That looks like a very nice building! I like the bushes on the roof. Is it going to be a commercial or residential building?

Hmm... it kinda reminds me of something from SC3000... very nicely done, even better than my current work.

it looks strikingly similar to my first hi-rise.  eerie.
I would need to see a more detailed render to help figure out what to change on it though.

Oooh!  Round is good44.gif.  I haven't built up the nerve to start on a project of this stature quite yet, but hopefully someday I will.
See if you could post a larger pic so we can see the detail1.gif.

Just, that looks cool!  I'm not sure if you know that if you hold the control button and then click the left mouse button over your preview render, it will zoom in.  The right button zooms out.  I had been BATting for a long time before I learned that cool trick from Caliban.  4.gif

Don't forget to provide some way for the sims to get onto the roof, whether it's a little tip of an elevator shaft, or a sim stairwell or something.  You might already have something there that we just can't see...

Very cool.  I love the roof garden.  SC4 needs more round buildings.

Back in my day peoples' first building was a hollowed out house, or a little corner store. I joked we could've made a great Stalingrad tileset.

But now. Jeebus, this one's amazing. It looks pretty detailed.

Thank for all the complements.I really got the idea of this building from the bottom of a frying pan34.gifgo figure.I will get a better rendering out sometime today for ya'll to see more detail.
I was thinking about building Adelphia Coliseum (Tennessee Titans Football Field) but it will take some time since i only have a basic knowlegde of 3-D design and gmax.
And no i didn't know about holding ctrl down, thanks for the tip3.gif.I was going to give them some kind of access but i haven't figured out what i wanted to do.I might try the elevator idea.
I agree that SC4 needs more round buildings. But since square buildings are easier and faster (at least for me) to make that might have had an affect on it.
If i wouldnt have had what little knowledge i have i wouldnt have been able to make it.Of course, it did take me a while to build it.

For a first building this is remarkably good, I like the overall shape, but a closer picture would help immensely in judging and advising. It looks as if the building is on a raised dais with steps leading up the to the ground floor of the building, if so nice touch. The way the building transitions in width as it rises could be used as sky lobby floors, with a translucent glass roof over the edges of those floors. I also like the roof, the pool reminds me a bit of typhoon lagoon

Actually the ground floor is on the ground, but the idea about the stairs would be a nice touch if i could do it (i can't build stairs all that well). As for the sky lobbies, i did design them to be lobbies i just haven't got around to put any bushes or anything else inside.
I'll have to take your word on the SC3000 because i never got the chance to play it8.gif.But the only reason this building is even close to being good is because i read DarkMatter's tutorials.
       Thanks again for the complements!3.gif

If you want a round staircase all the way arounf the building, that is easy to do.  First, select your whole building, and move it up 1 meter.  Then in the top view, make a cylinder, starting in the center of your building, but about 2 meters larger in diameter.  Make it .3 meters tall.  Then make another one, a little smaller in diameter, only .6 tall.  You can continue int his fashion, playing with the numbers until you get the effect you want.  You can also raise the building higher of course, and make a larger stariwell.  When you are finished with the stairs, add an edit mech modifier, and attach them all together to make one object.

Also another tip, if you haven't started this already.  Begin naming your objects, and use a system that is steady and works for you.  It makes finding objects in a project a whole lot easier.  And it is easier to start that way, than to go back and name everything later.

The blue thing is a somewhat akward pool......i kinda made it like its a hot tub in the middle and a regular pool on the outside. The dark area is meant to be the deep end but i think im goin to take the deep end out and make it look the same all around.

Yeah the game does need more football stadiums which is y I'm tryin to build it.It will take me a little while to do though so just be patient.I will post my progress on it when i get started.
