Freestyle 95.7 FM is the in-house mall Radio Station and also hosts many DJ events in the mall. I may do Border books as we have those here and they are good. I've not done much more work to the mall just now as you start to get bored doing one thing for a long time. I've been sidetracked building some local 'high street' style buildings on the STEX now.

Dude let's start over, here - the name of this thread is retail space for lease.  I suggested a source where people and DJ's can buy hot music in your mall, which I am well aware that you are making. The idea doesn't fit what you would like for your creation - that's fine.  Your reasoning being that the radio station is going to take care of all the music needs.  Don't turn around and say that's not what I said, because you know that is exactly what it sounds like when you read my suggestion for the store and your following response.

So then I ask, only 1 music store?  and it's a radio station?  It's cool, if that's how you want it, your the king of this mall.  It was just a critique, and this being a simtropolis BAT Open Discussion thread, people are entitled to make critiques, and suggestions.  But dude don't try to go big boy and ask me why I even care and then try to make a jack ass out of me and ask if I can see inside the mall.    Maybe I came across as having an attitude, and I do apoligize and hope you feel better if you took it personal, but man with comments like yours you took it to another level.  We don't need that here,  simtropolis has a good community going here.  Take it easy and I hope your mall turns out wonderful.  Don't get bored of it as there are many waiting for it.  Peace

nope, building is still being constructed, although rather slow due to real life issue. Just got a new job so don't have much time to do alot to it at the moment and i've been doing some smaller bat stuff in the time i do have. This will get finished sometime though, it's just turned into a long term project. Comments and suggestions are still welcome.

 

Forestpark: I was not being offensive to you or having an 'attitude', it seemed that you were just picking at small things, things that don't really matter. You are right this is open discussion and comments and suggestions are welcome as well as constructive critisicm. The music shop only turned out to be a Radio Station because someone suggested that name, and they wanted that store. It doesn't have to be real, 'Freestyle 97.5' Doesn't even have to be a radio station, it could just be a general music store named that, but that is irrelevant to me and can be anything anybody wants to make of it.

Kinda lazy to look back at whomever was getting a lil rilled up about the radio station being present, but ive seen a bar/resturaunt with a radio station type combo in glendale california i beleive... ( special day broadcasting? events? not sure.. just was in the back of my mind) =) other than that looks like its coming along quite well.

I have played with renaming. The only way I've figured is to rebuild the region from the map of the region (naming it whatever you want the new name to be) and BEING sure to include the CONFIG map so the region city divisions will be the same size. Then you can import the cities from the old region one at a time for those that you developed. Importing cities is easy and a normal activity. If you don't have a map for the region I don't think  it really matters. You can make up a map with just flat land if u like, as long as the CONFIG map is set up to do the same  size city sections and the map is the same size. As you import each city it will bring it's terrain with it I believe. Good luck. I believe it is a lot easier to DO IT than it is for all this explaining...lol

 

Having the new region have the correct overall size and city subdivision sizes and placement is the key. Config maps are easy to generate if you need to make your own.. they r small and only have 3 colors..

 

In fact if the region is the same size, I believe you can just copy the config from the old region folder to the new region folder now I think of it.  (do this work in the simcity folders not in the desktop set.)

 

 

 [EDIT] I have actually found it is quite easy (answer found, I think, in the Omnibus.. simply go into the folder of the region that you want to change (NOT while in SC4!) and open the region.ini which will look something like this:

 

[Regional Settings]
Name = YOUROLDNAME
Terrain type = 0
Water Min = 60
Water Max = 100
 

and change the Name = YOURNEWNAME

 

Good Luck.. I know this is EXTREMELY frustrating if you can't find how to do it
