The question just popped into my head for whatever reasons. But my favorite though does take up space is rail, can take loads of traffic, high capacity (i've reached 30k on one line). Though when it comes to just save space and time, it would be subway.

I voted other. If I can arrange it, I prefer to have my Sims travel by shank's mare. If not, then automobile. I keep my cities small and rural.

Trams have been my favorite form of inner-city transportation ever since I first saw the New Orleans streetcars as a child. And since most of my cities are intermediate in size and density, I tend to find some way of incorportating a fairly extensive tramway in the city center.

Ever since I've fallen in love with the Vancouver SkyTrain and have become a transit activist, I'll just say that I LOVE the monorail, and however cumbersome it is to implement in my cities, IT MUST BE THERE. Each station is named, each line and circuit is organised, I love it.

Currently, I have a tendency to use subway in the downtown areas, with lines of ground light and elevated light rail radiating into the surrounding areas.

I like to toss around regular railways and elevated rail through my cities. EL rail in the densely packed cities running in between buildings (occasionally going to a subway). And railways going in between cities that are far away, and connect it all between my towns and villages for one intricate network.

My favorite is highways. I like the crazy, creative interchanges that can be made with the RHW. So I voted "other."

I hope you don't put the crazy interchanges in your downtown areas. The take too much land.

I voted rail, because I feel that rail includes anything rail based, including high speed rail, elevated rail, tram in street/road/avenue, subway, and of course the 'heavy rail'. I love using trains, because I feel like they're so damn efficient, but I'm also a massive rail fanatic. I started using trams when I saw the amazing and beautiful equipment in Portland, Oregon.

Keep calm and take photographs.

That is one thing I don't get when I play why do I enjoy making a traffic nightmare in my down town areas all the time, I put interchanges in my DTs (down towns) some times and it works out well, mainly when I pre-planned the down town it does.

I really like rail networks in my cities!!!Also GLR is a good type of transportation...but the city needs to be quite big to have a GLR network in my opinion.... :whatevs:

Well I quite like Trams at the moment as I'm experimenting with a GLR line in a rural area. Overall a mix of everything helps keeps the traffic flowing. I tend to have 2 methods of transport with a stop every block and then a more cross country one with stops only every town

No, I usually use Maxis highways and interchanges in the downtown areas. They take up less room.
