Time for another update of Green Depra.

On request these are two regional shots of the small Green Depra cities as they stand.

    GD_city.jpg

And this is a transportation map of the area for those interested.

    GD_roads.jpg

Now there has been the creation of a new seaport in the industrial town to the North of Blackberry Inlet called Furnace Hills.  It has allowed for even more development and expansion of the industry of the area.  It has been created below the vast cliffs as a Harbour to service the entire area, here are some pictures of these new buildings.

    Fernace-Cliffs-Feb.jpg

    Fernace-Cliffs-Sep.jpg

    Fernace-Cliffs-Apr.jpg

It may not be as beautiful as the natural side of Green Depra, but its important for its residents!

There will be a larger update on the expansion of Green Depra upstream, this new site has been named 'Green River'
    Stay Tuned!

SC4 meister  Thank you so much again for your gracious comments!  I'm not quite sure which tunnel you wanted because I have a few but here is the one going under the Airport:

    Blackberry-Inlet-Feb.jpg

    Nice Regionshot.

And I love the pedriana collection from zour farms. You might download some more stage 3 farms form the STEX for not having only Pedrianas, I would recomment you the rural variety kit and some JMyer's farms; since they use the ingame fields they are way less problematic than the other BSC / CSX farms.

Nice harbour, too. I just would insert two more switches there so that the eng

ChocolateMax: Green Depra is a city of a true art form! Jacqulina is right; the red brick streets are beautiful! I also like how, you made the Seaport and industry, abruptly below the rest of the terrain; kind of out of sight out of mind, for the sitizens who enjoy the green views.

Thanks for stopping by Waffle World also! Grids can be functional as well as attractive, but not as attractive as a beautiful countryside with meandering country lanes. Every city needs to stretch and breathe a bit.

Nice use of those red bricks. There are not a lot of CJ's using them in such a great way.

I would like to take this opportunity to plea for more regional overviews. You have worked so hard to make the region of GD with all those trees, I certainly encourage you to start every update with a regional shot (no, I cannot get enough of those tree lined valleys).

Looking forward to your next update. Maybe you can shine your light on your railway system (does the track go through a steep valley towards the harbour or is it a tunnel?

    Cheers,

    Update 7:

Well, its not a huge update, just a little mosaic of the region to give you a better idea of where everything lies.

    mosaic2top.jpg
    mosaic2bottom.jpg

In the town of Salt Bluff (bottom right hand corner of the regional photo) several new farms have been set up by Red Depra farmers, they are a very different style from the Gold Deprovian style farms we've seen earlier on Black Ash Island.

    Newfarms.jpg

As you can see the new railroad runs though the middle of the farm discrict and it also runs through the inner industrial centre.

    newfarms2.jpg

There are also many residents of Salt Bluff, they range from these smaller town houses to a hill covered with rich mansions.

    smallhouses.jpg

I am developing a mosaic on this area, so stay tuned.

    richhills.jpg
Sorry, I only had time for a small update but I hope you enjoy it none the less.

    Personal Comments:

Nardo69 Thanks, as you can see from this update I took your helpful advice. 19.gif
frndofyaweh Thank you for saying this is art, it unfortunately doen't work nearly as well as a grid based city, like your great tutorial.
Ynterboy  Thanks, its a shame those trees got demolished!
Nik-nik  Thanks, I like the red brick too, I made a mosaic in this update just for you and I will try and show you more region shots as the city grows, I'm glad you like the look of it. 4.gif  Oh and I will give you more detail on the railway system soon.
metasmurf  I understand, the brick streets are a love-hate thing, you either loke them or hate them!  I like the look of them but the downsides are I don't have diagonal streets, dirty streets and street roundabouts.
     sim1234  Thanks as usual! 48.gif
hyped_up_boy  I'm glad you like it, and I'm always happy when someone finds my CJ.
sloppet  I hope this update didn't dissapoint! 2.gif
SC4 meister  I'm really happy you liked my update! Thanks!  The tunnel was on the bottom of a picture I posted before but it wasn't very clear!  I hope you liked this update too.  I always love it when you stop by.

Thanks everyone for your support, if you read this and like it please comment. Thanks all!

Now, I'm in a real rush and so I don't have time to do a proper update or anything, so forgive me for that!  But I just really wanted to share this mosaic with you guys, its quite a large one, it is of the area known as Green River, you can see the river at the top of the mosaic, as well as the highway system and the small town.  I am preparing a new, large update wich will be on tonight or first thing tomorrow, unfortunately I don't have time right now though.

Click on the thumbnail for a larger pic.  Enjoy.

Beautiful Landscape CM. Normally I would say the tree layout you have isn't my thing. However the way you develop your city around the land and not just blindly through has changed my mind. Very nicely done44.gif P.S. I also enjoyed the seaport. Beautiful landscape surrounding it.29.gif

    Update 8

Nothing like a quick flythough on this little gif I whipped up!

    moving-pic-1.gif

Its just a little experiment I've been working on, but more will probably come.

This week has been a week of slow development, including several new rich apartments popping up along Blackberry Inlet.  A new market appears to have been created for the rich people from Gold Depra.

    Blackberry-Inlet-Apr2.jpg

The areas around the central intersection of Blackberry have become wealthier and have attracted a whole new crowd to this area, a crowd with a love of plazas and shopping, instead of the grine of getting to work everyday.

    Blackberry-Inlet-Apr.jpg

The great rail bridge of Green Depra spans across Green River.

    Blackberry-Inlet-Apr3.jpg

There has been a new street system built which has provided access from the lower levels of Salt Bluff (below the cliff) to the upper levels.  Here are some pictures.

    Salt-Bluff-Feb.jpg

    Salt-Bluff-Feb3.jpg

    Salt-Bluff-Feb2.jpg

The Auvenue which exits  Blackberry and into Salt Bluff was decided to be made a bit sunken so to allow easy passage from one side to the other, because of its many customers, around it has become a thriving commercial centre.

    Blackberry-Inlet-Apr1.jpg

One of the prettiest areas of Green Depra is the waterside, most of the houses are above the water level but these few beach homes lie right on the shore, most people who live here own a boat which lies either tied to the shore or in the marinas.  It is also a prime resort area.
     Blackberry-Inlet-Dec.jpg

    Blackberry-Inlet-Feb2.jpg

The road leading back from this lower area is a senic drive.

    Blackberry-Inlet-Mar.jpg

One of Green Depra's citizens favorite hobby is to ride their bike, the most famous and stunning boardwalk in all of Green Depra is known as the Green Fur Walk.  It starts up above the cliffs and follows them down before it joins the street which leads into the holiday area I was talking about earlier.

    Blackberry-Inlet-Jul.jpg

    Blackberry-Inlet-Sep.jpg

    Blackberry-Inlet-Oct.jpg

Well, thats all I've got for today, I hope you enjoyed that! I know I enjoyed making it, but remember, I do this for your enjoyment so if you like it please comment.  Thanks for reading! 9.gif

sim1234 Thankyou, thanks heaps for following this CJ!  I hope you liked the last update, if you have any requests then just ask!
jacqulina Thanks, I never though I was as talanted as building as I was a terraforming, but I think I'm getting better. 17.gif
SC4 meister Thanks so much dude, I love it when you post in this CJ, you're always so enthusiastic and it always keeps me going.  Thanks again.
sorchin The tree lines aren't for everyone but I'm really glad you like them now! Thanks heaps!  I always try to fit the buildings around the landscape instead of the other way around.
Nardo69 Thankyou nardo, your advice was quite helpful was I wanted new farms but never knew which ones to download. 19.gif

    Chocklatemax,

    Nice updates!
Very nice residential areas and that road from upper to the lower levels. NICE!
The beach area is great! And the trail (boardwalk) along the coast line is very nice. Which path did you use, it's kinda greyish.
Looking forward to your next update.

    Chocolatemax,
one word, BRAVO! You're the perfect example of why I like this community so much! Diversity! This is unique, that kind of quilted look for your region with all those clear patches enclosed in forest! ORIGINAL! 44.gif

And I like the way you play with denivellation, gives depht to your cities. I also like the general layout of your villages, very clean and pleasant! 29.gif

I must admit though that the red brick streets are not my favourite perhaps because they're not part of my day to day life. I'd rather go with the tarred road, but this is just a personal preference and not in any way negative.

Great work with your CJ Chocolatemax 44.gif44.gif

    Take care
