    @Hazani Pratama - Thank you! :)

@Benedict - Thanks :) Yeah Solando was meant to be like an European city (Paris, to a certain extent but with predominantly American-esque architecture)

@TekindusT - Thank you! :) Yes I like to think that Solando is one of my prettier cities

@SimCoug - Thanks! :) I like how it fits in there too

    CJbanner.png

It was time to leave Solando (unfortunately)

    1-41.jpg

Left the hotel early so as to avoid the heavy traffic that has become symbolic of Solando's downtown core area. The streets are narrow and thanks to conservation programmes they can't be widened anymore.

    2-39.jpg

This, here, was a little gem I discovered along the way. The cathedral was apparently the first to be built out of stone in the city (or at least that was what the taxi driver told me). It's spire was once the tallest thing around for miles but now it's dwarfed by urban expansion.

    3-34.jpg

Lanayans love parks, and that's why they've built quite a lot within the city.

    4-22.jpg

And alas, I left the ground, on my way back to Centreburg, the plane turning south to give us all a last glimpse of this beautiful city before turning north back towards Corraile.

    I just had an epiphany.

Why should Simcity just be isometric?

    @Fox - Thank you :)

4:45pm, and I found myself in the library downtown. You know, the really big one, with tons of books and that awesome glass cyliner thingy.

    1-42.jpg

Ever since coming to Centreburg I've developed a fond relationship with books and reading. I've got shelves of books that I read and sometimes re-read whenever I need something to help me relax. Oh well, still have about half an hour before meeting Chip, so let's settle down and read something while waiting.

    2-40.jpg

5:25, and I'm already in Chip's little downtown apartment. Standing at the balcony you can peek out at the bay between two skyscrapers, and see the sails of boats docked and sailing. Inside was a small, but pretty chic apartment. I particularly liked the Warhol-esque painting he had in the living room.

7.30pm, and we're both at this nice place by the coast eating some seafood for dinner. Nice plane, nice breeze, nice view and the massive Centreburg Tower looming in the distance. Apparently the lights don;t come on till later, so it wasn't the pinkish-blue illuminated streak I was expecting but some grey, tall spire. Still, it was kinda pretty I guess.

    Comments, +1s are really appreciated.

Halloween, but no one's trick-or-treating tonight.

The rain was of unprecedented proportions, but even so, the streets were unusually quiet, and nobody left their houses. I suppose the government's press release this morning has taken effect already. It was released around 8 in the morning, and by 9 or so it was all over the news.

"...residents in the Centreburg, Solando or Western Lanaya region have been advised to evacuate the region for the immediate period..."

"...Flights to the Eastern Seaboard have been suspended due to Hurricane Sandy, expected to hit home here in at least 2 days time..."

"...Government has advised people to either stay home or evacuate to a safer region. Flights leaving Gateway for Colganston and Freedo have been full since this afternoon..."

Yup. Sandy would hit Corraile soon. I would wait it out here in the city, cause getting out of the city was a nightmare now - the airport was full of people leaving, driving wasn;t safe in this weather and the ships were in harbour too.

    EP6.jpg

    EP7.jpg

    EP8.jpg

For safety reasons, the downtown area had it's power cut whilst Centreburgians, Lanayans and Corrailites in the area braced themselves for the coming storm. Water, canned food and necessities were sold out at most places. Hopefully by the end of the week the worst'll be over.

    @Benedict - Neither would I

@sim_link - Thank you! And yes I agree

@Twenty20 - Yes they'll be back. Especially when it's rain like that!

    CJbanner.png

Sandy came and went like a freight train. We were expecting the sort of disaster that hit New York and New Jersey, but nothing of the sort materialised, at least not to that scale. Newspapers report at least 10 dead, and it seems that normalcy has returned to the city.

    1-43.jpg

Still a bit of dark clouds though... But it's surprising how the snow hasn't fallen around here yet. Strange.

    2-41.jpg

Still, no snow is good news, don't have to put my back out shovelling it all away from the driveway for now.

    3-35.jpg

Oh and before I forget, it's Remembrance Sunday.

    +1s, comments, all appreciated :)

I love these little nice houses, I would like to live in one of them. The memorial park is very well done.

Here comes the sun... No wait... That's not right is it?

    1-44.jpg

It's gotten colder and colder over the past few days, and then now this weird, white substance is falling from the sky. I wonder what that means?...

    2-42.jpg

Perhaps the heavens are having a bad hair day and this is the dandruff?

    3-36.jpg

No wait of COURSE it's winter! That's right! It happens between late November and January!

    4-24.jpg

Cold but pretty, don't you agree?

(p.s O forgot the inner black border for the last 2 pictures :/ )

As always, comments, +1s are all appreciated

The Empire is impressed with the sheer beauty of Corraile. :) The Queen may pay a visit soon on vacation. :)

"You're being moved to Solando, with effect after the Christmas break. Most of the benefits and expatriate allowances you get here will be the same there, and so is the pay. Good luck, and enjoy yourself, it's a pretty place." the boss told me this morning.

After spending about a year and a half here in Centreburg (not including the occasional business trip), I'll be moving to Solando, down south in Lanaya. It seems that that was the result of a successful business deal to expand the company's presence in Lanaya, buying farms and stuff like that. I'd better get ready for the move.

Mid-afternoon, and the heavens gave way to sheets of snow falling across the city.

Nighttime, and the city's Christmas lighting illuminated the streets. Shoppers bustled down the sidewalks, streaming into shops to find the perfect Christmas gift for friends and family. A pretty night, but I have to get my stuff packed to leave after Christmas *sighs*
