Hello. Im wondering how many people like to keep the gas stations that pop up. after your city develops they all seem to disappear, so instead i make them historical so they stay. This seams to be more realistic,. as there are plenty of cars and i wonder when all the gas stations build up then how do my sim's get gas?

alot of times i destroy a few commercial buildings a few times over just so i can get a gas station there, then i make it historical.

dose anybody go to this extent?

Lol, I totally forgot about the maxis gas stations, I donwloaded a set of service stations from the stex and have been plopping those ever since..

i think it's the euro set... if you want them gas stations to pop up early so you don't have to go back and hope they pop up set the game to run euro tile set as soon as you start the city,.. some of the first buildings that pop up for euro are gas stations...

do some light commercial in the spots you want your gas stations (only zone commercial along your busiest routes for it to work the best) and when your stations pop up, make them historical and then change the tile set to whatever you like

i don't try and keep specific buildings for my cities, but i do like to make cities that are only one tileset. and only when buildings pop up in spots that i like (where the road connection is seamless and there is no cliffing) will i make them historical... i play simcity everyday, and i probably only make 1 building historical per week

I just let the default petrol stations "die out" because in my opinion they look pretty unrealistic and I would rather have a commercial office building there instead.

I use ploppables while creating the city's layout. Any further gas station that comes while lot's grow thrugh their stages are a bonus.

I noticed them one day, and was trying to get them in my city; its be a long time since I played, and a longer time since I have liked my layout long enough to notice the gas stations. So this topic is a good reminder.

I've never kept them. They look too unrealistic. Instead, I use gas stations from the STEX. I, however, don't like the Maxis commercial buildings either. Especially the $$$ buildings.

I usualy just let them come and go, although they don't come along to often for me. I did like the Pump & Scoot from SC3000 better though.
