Cascades Talgos use locomotives similar to Seattle's Sounder and Amtrak California Locos, but painted in the Cascades scheme. The boxy ones are Cabbage cars, former locos gutted and turned into luggage storage and reversal cabs. Usually, there's a loco or cab on both ends, so the two tailfin baggage cars mesh the train with the lower passenger cars-a more eye-pleasing consist. I've seen some Amtrak shots where there's no cab on the back, so the train looks like an old '50's car!

From my website, www.nwvirtualtransit.com:

Is there any chance you could do a Metrolink train using the Sounder model? Metrolink is the commuter train for Southern California. The following link has pictures for you to get an idea of the paint scheme. http://www.trainweb.org/mpa/ Thanks for the great Amtrak trains.

    Oh yeah, LA Metrolink... might as well do the Coaster too, and I still have to get to the Amtrak Surfliner... right now I've got my head all tied up in a lot I'm working on, I'm trying to learn how to make custom path files.  I'll start making more trains after the weekend.

    Could you create an Alco PA-1 Diesel in the colors of the Rio Grande Railroad? It is the one painted Yellow and silver, with black stripes running down the side.1.gif

    I would much appriciate it if I could see this unique train in my Sim Cities.

    Yes, the LA Metro Rail system does go above ground. As a matter of fact, the Red Line is the only one that doesn't go above ground. The Blue Line, Green Line, and Gold Line all are above ground. Except for the Blue Line, which goes underground for about half a mile to go under the huge skyscrapers of Downtown LA. Well, the Green Line travels in betweeen the I-105 freeway, and the Gold Line has it's own way through LA and into Pasadena. It then goes under Colorado Blvd(where the Rose Parade is) and resurfaces in the middle of the I-210 freeway. Is it just me, or does MTA love putting trains between freeways? It's wierd.

    At the moment, and most likely forever in SC4, impossible. Can't put two different networks on the same tile. You just have to use one ways and run it down the middle.

    To avoid clutter in Trolca's, Dearnen's, and my threads, please post your passenger/elevated rail requests here in this thread.  If  you can link to photos instead of uploading them, so much the better - it'll save Dirk money and bandwidth and help keep the site running faster.  I know how to find things on railpictures.net.

    I will also post my progress in this first message, and update it as I move along.  Releases will occur in my 'New Passenger Rail Arrives' thread.

    My list:
    * Pennsylvania RR Electricswaiting for permission to use an Oppie model
    * Amtrak California Original car and loco released.  Still needs Surfliner trainset and extra cars and locos.  20% done.
    * Amtrak Superliner Released.
    * Amtrak Metroliner Beta released, needs better night lighting.
    * LIRR light rail of various kinds
    * NJ Transit Early prototype released  10% done.
    * Los Angeles Metro
    * Washington D.C. Metro
    * Singapore
    * Dallas DART
    * GO Transit   Original-replacement set released.
    * Sounder  Original-replacement set released
    * Caltrain 'Baby Bullet'
    * Hong Kong

    Yes!!!This is so cool...can't wait til it arrives.Here the web site if you want to find good pics.www.smrt.com.sg

    Hi all;

    Apologies for the lull in production over here.  I've been working with the BATT Squad and learning how to modd the transit networks.

    I have just finished re-working some of my older sets (Caltrain, BN, and Metra) to include some of the improvements that came with the Superliner set, and fix a few shortcomings in the transparencies.  An updated Train Set including all my completed work will be posted shortly.  The Metroliners will not be in the set, as they need to be re-made.

    Now I'm working on elevated models to get the modern light rail systems made (Metro North, DC Metro, DART, Singapore, and so on).  I'll keep you posted on progress.

    Someone from the Washington, D.C. area: when did Metro stop painting the red/white/blue stripes on the ends of the trains?

    Nice to know you're still here. 38.gif

    A little off-topic but since you mentioned it, what've you been up to with the modding?

    And also, you have an idea of what frieght trains run in the Southwest, for my upcoming CJ

    I'm learning the more advanced use of SC4Path files, trying to make switches that actually work, single-track rail, and to put curves and intersections on lots that actually work for UDI and civic vehicles. Plus anything else BSC Team needs.

    As for the Southwest, the high desert out there is the land of the mile-long Santa Fe freights.

    I'll also have to use your 32-car mod then. 2.gif

    If you decide to make the Metro North F-Unit diesel, you may be able to base an Alco off it, or vise versa. They are really quite simmilar except the nose. i believe Trolca may even have an F-Unit in the works.
    I hope to see one of these classic engines soon.

    Anything British, preferably WAGN, One, Anglia Railways, Network South-East etc... GNER is also British

    WAGN = West Anglia Great Northern
    GNER = Great North Eastern Railways (I think... Could be wrong)

    BRF,
    I know you are very busy and this is a request for something different. Also there is no hurry with it. I would like a Passenger Train for my Middle Earth region that looks sort of ancient. It could even have a wood texture or something very rustic looking. What do you think?

    would be nice for elevated rail since at some place of the city the metro is on elevated rails like what can be done in SC4

    Nice train ;) Wish sum1 wud make a gd station and rail network for the Virgin Pendolino. Its a gr8 train, but the sc4 rails and stations arent right for it and it looks stupid.
     We need GNER trains 2 and more local trains, such as First, networksoutheast, connex....etc.

    The main thing we need is overhead wires tho!! plz- just the 1 thing. For cryin out loud- a modern train needs an up 2 date rail system!

    i already mentioned the GNER but yeah any kind of british trains would be good!

    Are you saying the Pendolino is available for SC4 somewhere? The one I saw by Oppie on SC Central is a Virgin Voyager train not a Pendolino isn't it?
    They are pretty similar anyway.

    Can anyone make a mod to have the Pendolino and other tilting trains actually tilt round corners?

    One other thing: The next generation london underground trains and other metro trains will be one long carage with flexy connectors between them I think. If these are already running somewhere and someone wanted to do a graphic for them, that'd be cool too :-)
