    Update 1: A small introduction.

Aurora Valley is my new city journal attempt where I have seriously tried to do a more quieter "country" style city journal with alot of nature. The valley is rather large, but only has a total population around 83,000 for like 10 or 12 large tiles.

The main city is Aurora View, which currently has a population of about 46,000. It has two suburbs with populations of about 8,000 and 5,200. The rest of the population is spread out in farm communities and little villages.

Feel free to always give me honest comments filled with anything you feel you want to put such as praise or criticism.

I know I haven't done too well with staying up with my journals, so I hope to take a slower pace but keep on schedule.

Today and for the next few updates I will be posting a couple pictures of the more rurals area's that started my work on the journal and kept it going.

Very nice start of a CJ. Your rural feeling is very strong, and you have a good sense of it. Keep up the good work.

Could you show us your region?

Norby: I would love to, but I have this thing where I hate what my regions generally look like, even if they look fine to others. I'm kind've OCD about any terrain showing. I will show a Region when the time is right.

Shulmanator: Thanks, I'll be visiting yours soon 4.gif

Malibu: Thanks for the faith in me lol, I hope I don't dissapoint you.

    Nathan: Thank you.

Benedict: Thanks, I just figured out how to work that too lol.

Dfnva: Happy holidays to you too!

    Jiggawats: Dude...

DCMetro: Good to know. Your journal is very beautiful and realistic also, I think I should be aspiring to yours lol.

Update 2: Amethyst Pass Part 1.

Today's update will be featuring one of the larger farming towns in the region. Amethyst Pass is one of the oldest towns in Aurora Valley, it has had graudual growth but has managed to keep it's rural feel and stay a farm community although being a town of nearly 1,700.

Amethyst Pass is near Amethyst River, where many struck rich in the late 1800's finding rare gems such as amethyst. While there miners and their families would spend hours and hours digging in or around the river. They set up temporary living situtions while there. However, After all the gems were gone, many stayed and colonized this town. Appropriately named, Amethyst.

Amethyst was later named Amethyst pass due to it being the main freight and Passenger stop before crossing the river to get to the more urban Aurora.

There are many of family farms in the town, nearly 80% of the used land is farm land. However, due to property disputes of the past decades, fences were built by the town council to end the disputes. You can now see fences around nearly ever farm in the area.

More farms, this particular one is one of about a dozen that leads to the river, which is surrounded by some forestry.

    2jg0wfk.png

Due to the location of the valley, there is alot of wind. Wind power is the main form of power for the area.

In the last 20 years, Amethyst Pass has had a growing residential population for families who want a quiet life. Many of them choose to commute to nearby suburban Aurora Point.
