Incidentally, the new Focus EV that's slated for release next year looks a lot more like the European version. Dunno if the regular versions will as well, but I suspect they probably will.

Which is a shame, really. Not only is the lack of trunk space unappealing, but the rear window of that thing looks like it would be difficult to see out of. So does the windshield, actually. Needs to be oriented more vertically and be taller from top to bottom.

(these modifications are obviously made to make the car more aerodynamic and thus more energy efficient, but this particular tradeoff I don't think is worth making since it interferes with visibility)

I get the distinct sense that the American need for extra trunk space stems from the fact Americans will use their cars to drive long distances to go on vacation, and need the space for their suitcases. In Europe, it's more normal to use other modes of transport for such trips, is it not?
