How odd, no Page Flip Bug.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

I've decided to try and learn all the words to a Queen song without actually listening to it. No, it's not a very bright idea. 3.gif

Ah Western Way.... that didn't exist yet last time I was there. 3.gif And neither did the Western Expressway which it was built to connect to.

Also, let's see.... in 1999, World Drive ended at US 192, FL 417 Toll wasn't connected to I-4 yet, there was no interchange between Osceola Parkway and I-4, Winter Garden-Vineland Road was only two lanes, Celebration didn't exist, and all the exits off I-4 were still sequentially numbered (how primitive!). It's changed a lot in the past 12 years!

There's always something you haven't done, but who wants to do everything? So much of the crap there is boring and very skippable. A day in each park is enough to do everything worth doing.

And you also forgot Animal Kingdomquote>

I didn't forget it, I intentionally excluded it. Because it's stupid.

and MGM Studios has been renamed to Hollywood Studios.quote>

Whatever. I'm going to keep calling it MGM Studios. That's what it was in my day, that's what I shall always know it as.

I was in Walt Disney World when I was about 3. I don't remember much. I have a picture of myself and my sister with Mickey at Disneyland but I don't remember that either. I also don't remember being in Mexico but apparently I was.

Yes. The Bee Line Expressway opened in 1974.

The name was different 12 years ago, though. In those days it was still actually called the Bee Line Expressway, none of this "Beachline" crap.

The Animal Kingdom isn't that pointless, they've got that Mt. Everest ride there that's pretty good.

Didn't know they renamed MGM...not like I'm gonna call it anything else anyawys. One of those places had that Aerosmith ride, that was cool. Can't remember when exactly I last went there...a few years ago, probably. 2-3 maybe.

I say go to less popular amusement parks. Then you won't have to spend too much time in line.

I've rather liked going to Universal Studios (my mom has a thing against Micky, probably from one of her sister's obsession...my point being we go there more then to Disney). It's popular, crowded, but because we usually stay at a hotel at the park (Hard Rock, whoo!) our room keys double as fast passes, so we skip the lines.

Incorrect. It was officially renamed in 2005, by an act of the Florida legislature.

My family never went to Universal Studios. We weren't interested, largely on account of it not being Disney World.

Though, we did go to Sea World on our first trip down, in 1989. (but I don't remember that)

On that note, a couple other "back in the day" points:

    - in 1995, when we made the first trip I remember, the Animal Kingdom park didn't exist

    - when we were there in 1989, MGM Studios hadn't opened yet!

I went to Florida in 2000. That would have made me 8 at the time. It was the last vacation Grandpa went on. He died of cancer in 2001. He was sick and had to go in a wheelchair but he blamed it on the heat and humidity and did not get a check up. It might have been curable at the time. It certainly was not curable in 2001 when it was discovered (it was at the final stage).

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Yeah my paternal grandmother is still alive. She'll be 89 on the 20th of this month. My maternal grandmother slowly deteriorated from alzheimer's disease and died in 1995. I was the last person she remembered. Once she forgot who I was I figured it wouldn't be long... and it wasn't.

My maternal grandfather died back when I was four years old, so I don't remember him very well, except for a few pictures of baby me with him. My paternal grandfather died a few years ago, which devastated me, because I'd basically grown up with him. (Babysitting while parents were at work). He dyed on the Orthodox (which he was) Good Friday, and was born on Christmas, which I think was pretty special. This last Christmas was the first one we didn't have a cake for him.

Both my grandmothers are still alive. And that's all I've got to say, because I can't feel my fingers from the cold and have had to backspace and re-do so much of this.
