In 1996, when I picked up Super Mario 64 and started playing it, my reaction was pretty much "what the hell is this crap?". My assessment has not changed since. That game killed Mario.

Never cared too much for Mario games, but I still love my N64. It's not plugged in right now, but it's basically right here. Super Smash Brothers (the original one, of course!) was probably my favourite game for it. Duke Nukem wasn't that bad either. Ahh...good times, good times...

Each Super Smash Bros. game has been an improvent upon the previous one. More developed, more refined, more player-friendly. The first one suffered substantially from the N64's awful controller design.

In other news, I have remapped a few keys on my computer. The "open calculator" button now functions as left ctrl, because it's right next to left ctrl and sometimes I press it when I mean to press left ctrl. In addition, left alt now functions as the `~ key (I typed those by pressing it!), and the windows key functuons as left alt. This is to allow a more ergonomically friendly control setup for video gaming; my previous strategy of making left ctrl jump and space fire no longer works as those two buttons are too far apart on my new laptop for me to comfortably keep my index finger on one and my middle finger on the other. Now I can keep left ctrl as jump and set `~ as fire, and press left alt to achieve it. As for why not just set fire as left alt, well... most emulation programs use alt for other functions (toggling the menu bar on and off) and won't let you map a button to it. And no program will let you map a button to the windows key or the function key (the other two buttons inbetween left ctrl and the spacebar) because windows has set functions for those buttons that transcend what program is active!

Wow! I sure missed a lot of pages. I have been so busy with Christmas stuff and paying for next quarter. I am also ready to continue my game with Muck308. I also decided to learn to play cubic chess. There are 8 boards stacked on top of each other and each board is either a different color or marked by their Greek letters (alpha, betta, gama, delga...) it sounds like fun!
