My wife and I walked through Akihabara one Sunday afternoon a few years ago and the cosplayers were all out playing in the streets. A couple walked past me and my wife and the guy laughed at his girlfriend, "KIMOI!" which means, "GROSS!" roughly translated. I had to kind of agree with him, some of them were WAY too into it. Needless to say, that particular section of Tokyo is not one of my favorites.

I watched the presidential debate instead of doing my homework. I was ahead last week but I have fallen a tiny bit behind this week. I am a progressive Libertarian and I agree that Romney won the debate.

I don't watch presidential debates since there is nothing to be learned from them. And personally, I'd rather read about candidates' plans and policies than listen to them flap their lips.

I am so glad I'm missing all that by being here in Japan. The only problem is that they're looking like they'll be holding another election fairly soon, which involves not TV ads but cars and vans with loudspeakers attached to the top that roll through you neighborhood everyday for two weeks shouting at you to vote for them or else or else what exactly.
