I still haven't mined down far enough to find redstone but I'll play with that later. Right now I am building the halls of King under the mountain as I quarry out massive amounts of stone. I feel very dwarven as a result.

Hey everyone. I've been playing this game for a few months now and I must say, I love it. The best part, for me, is just seeing what kind of buildings you can make. Of course, I cheat a little by spawning materials since mining all of the stone, gold, and diamond I use would be nearly impossible! I'll post some pics when I get the chance so you all can see what kind of things I'm talking about.

As for a simtropolis server? I'd love to host it but my internet can barely handle me and my girlfriend! Plus I'm moving out into the boonies soon and they don't even have DSL. All I'll get is 256K satellite. Oh well...

hey guys! got minecraft a while ago and is wonderful! i downloaded the millenaire mod that makes AI villages, which are hilarious! also single player commands, which is really helpful when the urge to use TNT is too strong!

Not really tried too many mods. SPC is cool, and the piston mod is great, but i like minecraft the way it is. Adding too much just makes it wierd in my eyes.

making a diamond palace for myself, took a whole day to lower the floor so i can put some diamond ore in as the floor, and have diamond blocks as the walls. Ad Interim bedroom= bed surrounded my flaming netherrack. How do I get in, you ask? I have a lot of porkchops

you should come to Sheep Springs! just go to the new spawn, follow the rails, and when you see 4 houses near a lake you are at Sheep Springs! and make your house there.

Usually the custom content, or mods, don't work for smp. So you can connect and nothing will be different, except the texture pack will also apply to smp.

Because I have the millenaire mod does not mean the server will have it or will it effect my gameplay, because it only applies to singplayer

You just play SMP normally. The game will be vanilla except for whatever mods the server has and how its configured. Your own texture packs will be what you see though, that is handled by your client.

In addition, your player skin(I'm Pazu in MC too, lol) and your user account come from the minecraft.net site. I only bring this up, because sometimes mc.net will go down due to traffic during updates to the game and nobody, I mean nobody on any server anywhere, will be able to play.

AFAIK, MC doesn't have anything like vac, punkbusters, etc. The server(aka the computer) won't automatically ban you because it doesn't like something you patched in your client. This isn't an invitation for breaking the rules, but I'm just saying how it works.

Though, the server will automatically kick for various stupid bugs, like "illegal stance" or "flying", which can be caused by standing on a fence or something.

Just try to login and see what happens. Worst case is it will barf up an indecipherable error message and crash.

Too many items will work if you have permission, but some mods (Zans minimap for example) Will crash the SMP if ran with certain server plugins, so i have an unmodded bin file for multiplayer.

i have a minecraft server set-up (sim.c2mcs.net) and there are currently 2 users playing on it (me and 7499275/rocky)

i will accept join requests of up to the first 4 players (after this post) and you must give me up to 12 hours to process the request.

I use Millenaire and Humans+ mostly. I also have baby animals and too many items. To test out Millenaire, I downloaded a map that had the center 1024x1024 m all flat land at a medium-low altitude with the top layer as grass, 2 layers beneath it dirt, and all the rest down to 1 space above bottom as stone with bedrock at the borders (bottom, and North, South, East, and West of center by 512 m being a tall layer of bedrock with everything beyond that randomly generated. I played on peaceful until all 4 villages were built (I built one of each type with the source blocks at 0,0; 0,200; 200,200; and 200,0) and it took forever for the villages to complete (about 10 days with all four villages running at the same time and giving them all the resources they need for the next project using TMI). Today, the last village finally built its last structure so I built a 2 m wall around the entire complex made of stone (with a door at 0,0; 0,100; 0,200; 200,200; 200,100; and 200,0). I went to my stone house with iron doors and switched from peaceful to easy, went to sleep in my bed, and ...

I was woken up to a zombie even though there was no possible way for one to get in there or spawn.

Eventually, I learned that my game was too bugged and I could not use my bed in any other mode than peaceful and that without each village bathed in the light of a million torches and surrounded by their own personal walls, then the villagers get massacred to respawn at dawn. So I surrounded a village with a cobblestone wall and started placing torches, turned off peaceful mode when the sun set and defended the villagers from the rouges (Humans+), spiders (they can spawn anywhere), and occasional zombie and skeleton. I heard a couple of explosions and the fields between the villages had several holes from creepers blowing up. I think I have enough torches throughout the artisan village that I should not have to worry too much about defending them.
