Update 1.7 is out (followed by 1.7.01, fixing some bugs that cause crashes).

New things added (taken from Minecraft wiki):

Pistons.

Shears (for sheep and leaves - you can no longer punch sheep to get wool, and you can now collect leaf blocks).

TNT needs fire or redstone in order to set it off.

Fences can now be stacked on each other, and torches placed on them.

New textures for cobblestone and brick.

Let's hope it doesn't lead to the same massive update chain as 1.6 did. It shouldn't, seeing as less was added. Pistons and shears ought to be interesting. I've started up a new world in order to test things out from the start. Now all I need to do is find some iron and redstone...

Well there are already bugs. Such as pistons cannot move blocks such as glass or ice, or the game crashes. Also, for me I tried punching a sheep and my game crashed. So lets hope these get resolved soon.

New update...this is mildly annoying since I just started a new world in 1.6.85 with Finite water and Steamcraft. I started work on a massive boardwalk and was halfway to its first major destination. I hope this patch doesn't break it.

Does anyone know if the files in ~/Library/application support/minecraft (this is on a Mac) will work on a PC? I want to stop playing on my Macbook and start playing on my desktop PC, but I want to transfer all the worlds over. Is this possible?

It is possible. But you should re-download the Minecraft client for PC, run it once to download everything... then for your worlds: there should be a folder called "saves". Copy that, you only need that.

Paste it in the directory Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/ making sure it's a folder called saves.

You will need to have "Show Hidden Files" enabled in Folder Options however.

OcramSeattle: in the console (or game) type EXACTLY: (for console): whitelist (add)(username)

if you do it in-game, it's basically the same thing, except you add a backslash to the command, but since you cant get in, go to wherever the minecraft.jar is located, find the whitelist.txt then add......probably a lot easier to explain this in chat

As long as there is no 2 post rule, you are a moderator so you can change things, I will respond.

A whitelist is a list of players that may join a server. If a server has whitelisting enabled, no one that is not on the OP or whitelist files cannot join.

You havent seen my lightswitches, doors, cannons, crushers and most importantly that arena. But when you push the button to stop, the door appears in the wall. Latches are my friend XD

Also, you may need to add the port to the end of the IP. Mine is 95.142.x.x:26655.

I didnt use the default port, so just stick whichever one you used on it.

i tried it with xl3afsfanx and jetstone644.......not working, keeps saying: "Failed to connect to the server; Connection timed out: connect"

and yes, i checked several times that the numbers are correct
