Yeah, the plan I have is to use this as a base model for several diiferent pizza chains. I will be changing the textures and such according to a name brand pizza joint's color scheme. But the model will remain pretty much the same for several different chains. The thing is if the pizza chain is not in a strip mall it tends to be in a structure such as this so why remodel a new one when this one will suit it just fine. Anyways thanks for the compliment.

Looks good. The change of the door really improves it. How about a render with some night shots?

Folks. Either post within the Forum rules, or don't post at all.
Stop posting images that are over the forum limit.
This is 800x600 <200KB at the maximum, regardless of where it's hosted. Especially worse if they've been uploaded here & they're above the forum limit.

If the image is 300KB, but 300x300, then that means you do not post it.
If the image is 900x500 <195KB, then that means you do not post it.
If yall can manage to figure out how to upload an image, then yall can manage to figure out how to post that image within the rules thanks.

Sorry for my abscence....... I am still in the process of getting myself situated here in Grand Rapids after my move from Melbourne, Florida.  I haven't been a victim of the 'Comerica Plague', but I do not have my main (GMAX) computer set up yet.  I am waiting to set it up until I get Comcast in here to set up my cable modem.  I might have updates and possibly the building itself up in about a month or so.

Welcom back to Michigan Jon!  So I guess we'll be seeing you at the next BSP meeting downtown Detroit!  I'm also glad to hear that comerica tower didn't claim another victim.

BD, I am looking forward to seeing your progress, if you could just keep the file size down9.gif.

About the picture size...Sorry. The images were about 900x700 before. For some stupid reason i forgot to crop them to the appropriate sizes. The images in this post are 788x580 and somewhere in the neighborhood of 130KB so they should be fine.

Jon, I know how moving goes. Good to see you back and look forward to any progress you post when you get the chance.

Here are some pics of what I have done to the model---

Anyways, that's what I've got to show. Hope you all like.

On a side note, I'm no sure if I'll be working on the tire next. I might hold off on that for a bit longer. In the meantime I was contemplating modeling a Meijers but here's the thing. Meijers stores are approximately 200000+ sq. feet. By that logic that would mean that the store is 400ft x 500ft. After converting it to meters and such I've come up with this...Using those guidelines for the building it would end up being approximately 9.5tiles x 7.5tiles which isn't going to work. So its up in the air...I think a 5x5model would work...Any thoughts?

Is it just me, or does the brick on the front of the buildings need to be smaller?  Other than that, they look really good, except for the Hungry Howies.  I don't know if it's the color/lettering, but something doesn't look right.  What would you think of adding a yellow awning to the Hungry Howies?  The one by my house has it, and you can keep the rest of the buiding the same.

I hope you don't think I'm being to critical.  The Domino's and Little Ceasar's do look great and I can't wait to see a rendered / in game shot!

Yeah, something just looks off putting about the Hungry Howies. I think a white brick texture would help. In addition an awning may look pretty good. Another thing that is definitely missing is that black and white tile they have going around the exterior of most of the Howies I've ever seen. Oh well, back to the drawing board on that one.

As for the brick teturing, you know that's what I thought at first. I started with pretty small brick but when I previewed them I noticed that it almost looks like a solid color. So I played with UV Mapping a bit to make them appear larger and when I preview them now the brick shows great, esp in Zoom 5. I think they have to be that way...i.e.---appear a bit larger than what is normal for them to be seen in the game.

bud:Nice signs. mmm, I love that flavored crust! I agree with baldy on the bricks on the Little Caesers. They do look a little big. Also some more textures on Howies would go along way. My local Little Caesers (just opened) has a drive through. Just putting an idea out there.

baldy & jd: Welcome back to the thread. We've seen a lot of post recently with buds new Dominos. I wonder whats hapened to wolverine? Check the page before this one. I posted a BSP logo that I whipped up and I've been wanting somefeedback. btw baldy, I love your new av. Looks like somebody's got a case of the Monday's!17.gif I could recite evry line of that movie if I wanted too.

Nice, but where are the lights? It looks like the indoors is lit up dimly but outside there's nothing. How about adding a bright light out in the back and a few ones in the front for the nightime customers.

BTW, check out my new CJ. (link in sig.) It's my first try and feedback would be appreciated.

The lights are there but I need to increase their intensity some. I think that's the last quirk....

EDIT---Check out the preview renders now a couple posts above this one. I increased the intensity of the lights so they look better.

Much better. Will these be released in a set of three or by themselves. I suggest a set so they don't clutter up the STEX to much.2.gif

Not sure on that one yet, I don't want to clutter up the stex either but since the Howies needs some texture work I just might release them independently as the Dominos and Little Caesars are essentially done and I'm not sure when I will finish Howies. I'll see after I put them in the LE but I'll probably release them independently.

Sweet, name brand pizza places! I can't wait till they're released!
    quote>

They are not exported yet so it'll be a day or two. I was glancing through the list and for some reason I couldn't make my mind up as to what to do next. I was going to do a Meijers but I'm going to hold off on that for a bit. So as I was glancing through the list it occured to me what I will model next and it wasn't on the list. I'm going to model an automotive shop, like Belle Tire or Midas. I'm leaning towards Belle Tire as it is locally based.

BTW, the list has been updated on Page 1.

Well I began work on the Belle Tire. The model still needs a fair amount of work but the basic structure is there. I thought I'd share with all of you...

It is still in its preliminary stages but its a start. I figure this will end up on a 4x4 lot when finished.

BD, I really like the Belle Tire!  Very Detroit!  Looks like some one is really getting the hang of the BAT.

Ert, I never left, just trolling around1.gif  I haven't been able to work on my project for the longest time and it will be a few more weeks until I can start again.  Plus, I need to reinstall the BAT and am hoping I don't have the reinstall problems like some of the others.  Also, it's nice to know that the younger generation can appreciate (and quote) Office Space!  I have about 70 audio clips on my work computer and send them out periodically when the occasion dictates9.gif  LOL!

Yeah, I only had a slight handle on it before but once you get going it starts to get easier. I hope I didn't curse myself there. Anyways I played with the model some more and it now has the garage doors. I've yet to map the windows in the doors but it gives the idea. I think they came out pretty sweet. Here's the update....

BTW, some of the math you need to use when modeling gets diabolical, doesn't it?

It's coming along very nice.  Here's a suggestion, take it for what it's worth, how about having some of the garage doors open all the way, or partially open?  It won't be too difficult and will add some variety of the side of the building.

Ooh, that's nice bud. The garage doors really give it a nice effect.

I was thinking, maybe we could hire some 'professional' help for our BATS. Like Grandpa Al and some others regulary help out other BATTERS with query, UI, and whatever those LUA scripts are for.18.gif It would be nice to have a professional presentation to go along with our BATS.

    Also, here's that logo again:
    BSPlogocopy.jpg

I would really like some feedback. Same goes with my new CJ. I only have one comment and it's already on Page 2. It's the only Journal being ignored.7.gif

Okay ert, here's a critique of the logo. It looks pretty good but I hope you don't mind the following suggestions.

    1. Eliminate the Barry Sanders type within it completely. Keep his image but eliminate the name.

    2. Change the B S P and its coinciding letters to block type and darken it a little bit. Also move it to the lower left where the Barry Sanders was.

    3. Darken the Logo a little bit to the same tone as the BSP as it would now be more visible with the BSP moved.

I hope what I was thinking came across well. Its a little hard to explain. Overall its a nice start. I hope what my suggestion is received as advice, and not a critisism. Good work ert, keep it up! I appreciate the critiques as well1.gif

As for submitting the lots to GrampAl and etc., I have thought about this quite a bit too. I think it would be a good idea unless someone would like to volunteer. I've tried to work with the modding a bit and I simply have no clue what in the heck I'm doin. The tutuorials do not read well, at least for me. I may try to putz with the modding a bit more but don't get your hopes up for custom queries and such from me. Personally, I'd almost like to model more than anything. I'm not a huge fan of the LE, but I will do that as well for the bats. Perhaps we could implement some sort of system where once that is finished someone with the talent needed would do the modding. At least for the time I will try to change the stats in the property manager and use that but I really like the idea of the modding. If only I knew how...Any thoughts on all this?

Hmmmm...Hope you don't mind another critique. I like that picture better but here's what you could improve. I would move the BSP so that the P is in the lower left corner, tighten up the vertical spacing between the B, S, and P, and enlarge the black type of the Barry Sanders Project. I like that image better than the previous one. If you make those subtle improvements I really think it would look awesome!
