I'm not done with the Tigers thread. I have had a few people PM me for pictures. Considering everyone who went may want some, I'm going to post the update on where you can get these photos at their full size and res. Don't forget that there is also a second game being planned and that thread will be used for thatt info. As far as Pistons stuff, good call on the NBA Finals thread. It slipped my mind for some reason.

I would also like to see some more pictures from the Tiger's game.  If wolverine would just clean off his memory card . . .

It sounds like everyone is having problems with their computers lately.  Mine has to do mostly with internet explorer using up all my computer resources.  When I go to a page, it will sit idle for a couple of minutes before it finally goes to the page.  I swithed to myie2 which isn't giving me any problems and is a far superior browser.  I'll still end reformating the HD and starting clean one of these weekends.

To keep this somewhat on topic for this forum, I asked a couple of questions about gmax a while back and was wondering if any knows the answer.

GO PISTONS!!!!!!

Are you sure you really want to know how the projects are coming?  Of the 4 people with projects, here's the story:

me - computer problems and not enough time
Wolverine - see above
Budweiserdude32 - see above
Farminsim (who was very far along) - has been MIA for that last 2 months.  We're hoping he'll find his way back and at least get the model to one of us to try and finish it.

It's sad...the computer I'm on right now is coughing up a lung. It's sad...I think the motherboard is on its way to be corrupted. I can not get a single SC4 program to work, not the LE, not the BAT, not even the friggin game. My soon to father-in-law is building me a new computer as I type this. Hopefully it should be ready in a week or so. My computer has gotten so bad that I can not execute many of the programs on it...notably IE which crapped out on me earlier today. I had to re-install it just so I can use the internet and now its almost as slow as a 56K modem...and I have cable....argh....so for now my projects are on hold. I have them backed up but until I get the new computer they can not be worked on...so that's my progress report. Game 5 tonight!!!!!!

    How about those Pistons baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To give you an idea of the press coverage of the series here in Florida, there was a bigger article in the paper about the urinal pads in the restrooms in game 4 that when touched with 'body temperature liquid' showed Beat LA on them, than on what to expect in game 5. And my local paper has the best sports coverage in the state and is ranked #7 in the US for its coverage. This team rocks and just like the song they played at the end says.......We are the champions..............of the world

How about those Pistons?!?!  It's not often a team wins 5 games, but that's basically what the pistons did.

It's not so much that they won, it's that they whipped LA!

You really need to look further than the last post.  If you look at the top of this page, you'll see the status of the projects. Just a page back you'll see the project I am working.  Also, the purpose of this thread to showcase Michigan buildings.  There are pictures of projects and buildings we'd like to do throughout this thread.  This thread has been bogged down a little bit with the PISTONS kicking so much Laker a$$, but things should get back to normal.

Baldy said it quite well but if you're looking for further information, please check out more than the last 6 posts or so. If you check out page 1 of this thread in the very first post it states the purpose of this thread. Thanks!

Wow, we ae sooooo Detroit.   We get a huge plan and get distracted easily.  There will be stuff coming.  The status of this thread was discussed at the Tigers game.  There was a general agreement, that we are all extremely busy with jobs, college classes, relationships, etc.
The science behind the posts in this thread is that we all can BAT buildings, but just at a slower pace, and WHEN we have time.  I still do work on some of my buildings, but when I make them, I go deep. I don't want to make some stupid box and then slap a giant winodw texture over the whole thing.  I prefer to shoot for detail.  I guess because others here are facing similar problems, we don't have much to say.  When you put a bunch of people in the same thread from the same region, they are all bound to start talking about similar interests.  I apologize for the lack of BATness in this thread.  In the future, there WILL be buildings put here, but for now, it's been our break room between our busy schedules.  And if any of you that read this thread and don't care for all the pistons stuff here, it will soon wear off.  But right now this is huge for us, and we like to celebrate together.

Stay tuned, the BAT stuff will come soon

Also please note that if I have time, I will be posting a little Pistons surprise in the NBA finals thread.  This thing will also be accessible by clicking on my signature.  Currently it is not, but if you are around the boards and don't feel like going back to that thread, just click on the sig to see it -- soon.

EDIT: jondecker, I apologize for not getting your avatar to you soon, I will work on making it tonight.

USA_Pride, apologies to you as well for not getting that group picture to you.

I will be giving it to everyone.

Rest assured that as much as I want the Pistons to win, I don't think that they will because while they may have an answer to either Shaq or Kobe, they don't have an answer for both of them at the same time. The Pistons will unfortunately learn just how good on the basketball court the LA Lakers are. (and I hate to say that, believe me.)

Hmmmmm, I am proceeding to take both of my feet out my mouth 44.gif.

As much as I wanted the Pistons to win, I didn't think that they would. Well I was sooooooooooooooo wrong, and this is one time that I enjoy being wrong. I hate the Lakers, just about as much as I hate the Yankees, so anytime they lose, especially when it is all on the line, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I have some complaints, however. I really pissed me off, that every time I saw a sportscaster talking about the series, they weren't talking about how good of a job the Pistons were doing, they were talking about, What is wrong with the Lakers, or, Can the Lakers turn it around. And then one person actually said, This is unbelievable, I never in my wildest dreams thought that the Lakers would crumble like this. This is truly an unbelievable sight. He wasn't talking about the Pistons actually being BETTER than the Lakers, he was talking about how he couldn't believe that the Lakers choked. This morning I went to several sports websites to see what they were talking about, and what did I see? Yep, more of the same. Most of the articles dealt with the Lakers, and who was staying, and who was going, and most repulsive of all there was an article titled, How the Lakers lost the NBA Finals. What the hell is that.

I think it is about time to give credit, where credit is due. ESPN has done it, but most of the newspapers and magazines, and other sources of info that we have access to and read here in Texas, and even further West, are still trying to kiss the Lakers overhyped asses. (Sorry if that was rude.)

I don't know what yall are reading up in the Northern areas of the country, but I hope people up there have realized that the PISTONS BEAT THE LAKERS, not the LAKERS FELL APART.

Well, I just wanted to pull my foot out of my mouth after what I said a few weeks ago, and give congrats to all you Piston's fans out there, and everyone up in Motown. I hope yall are still partyin'. Your team definately made my week.

No problem Wolverine, take your time. I am still floating on cloud nine today (I do believe most people call this an extreme hangover). I have been fooling around with gmax a little and am slowly starting to understand it..........very slowly. I hope to possibly be able to help tackle some of the projects when I cna get a little more proficient at it, as Wolverine said, you all like to put your whole selfs into the creations and I will do nothing less than that, I want to help bring out the best of Detroit.

Hey, even most around here were doubting that this could be pulled off. When I went to a couple of games in the earlier rounds of the playoffs I could just see this team had he potential to be the proverbial team to beat. Yet as the finals loomed, nearly everyone conceded that the Pistons had no shot. How wrong were they!!! The local newpapers are praising the Pistons as the rightful champions and only a blip or two is mentioned about the failure of the Lakers to produce. The Lakers were beat in every facet of the series. With the exception of the collapse at the end of game 2, the Pistons exemplified everything that can be right with team sports. They worked and played harder and proved a point spoken many times over that defense wins championships. I think the reason that this many not only in Michigan but all over the country have love this team so much is they can identify with it. they all work hard, they're not the best individually but as a team they are and we can all see a little bit of ourselves in that. I honestly can not recall whenn so many wanted a team to win so badly...be it for the fact that they hate the Lakers or the fact they can identify with the Pistons...wow I'm still in a little shell shock from the last week and a half!!! Go Pistons!!!!!!

guys, you'll have to deal with the other team fell apart syndrome for awhile. we here in Baltimore felt the same way you guys did in the NFL playoffs in 2001. no one thought the Ravens would win the super bowl. but they did, riding thier defense to and through the playoffs. but most of the coverage afterwards was what happened to the Giants offense? but give it time, it will turn around. the ESPN25 moments commerative Gatorade bottles state the Ravens won due to dominating defense, not a Giant failure. So in a couple of years you'll get your credit. and if you repeat next year, no one will doubt the piston's ability.

on another note, an article in yesterday's Baltimore Sun proclaimed the Pistons should be thanking the Wizards for thier title run. If it wasn't for the Wizards castoffs the Pistons would not be where they are today. They would not have three of their starters, i think the article said, and would not have gotten this far without them. i read it and laughed, trying to find the good in the Wizards desperate situation, psssh.

and yet a final note, this one pertains to the city of Detroit. I read about the decline of the city, and the rise of the suburbs, and it sounds a lot like the plight of Baltimore. I was wondering if you had heard of the Buy a Block concept? It might just be a Baltimore thing, but if it works it could rejuvinate the city, and help other cities in the same situation. Right now it is in its very beginning stages, only four houses have been bought in the block, but at least a dozen more are waiting to be sold to homeowners. I just thought it would be an idea that could be given a look at in Detroit. the webiste from the creator is http://www.techbalt.com .

and a continuation of my first note: congratulations on the win, and don't worry about what the rest of the country is saying, true basketball fans know it was a win by the Pistons, not a Laker loss.

Well, Pistons fans, I hope you all have been kind enough to check out my pistons video.  You can get to it by clicking the link in my signature.  Please note that it is 6 MB, so you might want to have a cable modem or higher to view it.  It should take no longer than 1.5 minutes to load.  Or just hit the refresh button and it loads twice as fast.  Once it's loaded, you can view it for days on without waiting time. Hope you enjoy it.

BTW, I've been working on my factory, but that may stop for a few days while I reimage my hard drive.

I've been thinking of an idea for our project. Obviously, bud and wolverine are now part of the ST BATT Squad. I was thinking that we could contact an admin. and propose that budweiserdude23, wolverine, and baldy can get new labels. They can replace BATT Squad and tourist and say something like BSP Squad for Barry Sanders Project Squad. What do you guys think?

One of the things that the admins have repetedly said is that no one should request a title. Doing as such can have unexpected results. I agree that this would be cool but if you look at it from their standpoint if they did it for some then they would be overburdened and bombarded with requests such as this all the time. I know a while back we had an idea like this...that members of this thread should have some sort of special designation under their names indicating they were part of this project. However it was agreed upon that should we ask for such a thing and it was granted to us, many across ST would do the same. I spoke to Raphael about this when the name of this thread was changed and he clarified how titles are bestowed. The labels are bestowed upon those who show a certain value to ST and if this project were to churn out a whole slew of projects I wouldn't be surprised if something were bestowed upon all of us in the same manner as SimMars as to my knowledge this is the most expansive project other than SimMars. Just so you know ert, I think we all should have some sort of specialized title due to this project...like D in ST squad, Detroit squad, BSP member, something like that...when we all get rolling on this the projects turned out should be most impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if wolverine did a little something for those who contributed to this project through this thread on the BSP homepage...hint hint.....2.gif

I've been really busy with life, but am hoping to get some time to work on it tonight.  I am still having problems with something eating up much of my processing power and haven't found out what it is.  I've run AdAware, spybot, and norton, and my system is clean, so it looks like I am going to have to format and start clean.  On the bright side, my photoshop class ends this week so I just need to finish up the homework this weekend, and do the final, then I will make much more free time.

    Here's an update:

I finished the upper windows, man what a pain because I couldn't array them or copy them, so it was one window at a time, ugh!

I modified one of the walls to be the front and everything is there to make complete the main portion of the front wall.  I did however notice after the fact, that the windows around the entrance are supposed to be recessed.  I kind of like them how they are and will leave them for now.  The other thing is that the windows centered above the entrance are different in real life, but I opted for the easy way out and kept them the same.  Yeah, you wouldn't have noticed if I wouldn't have said anything, I know!

I tried to play around with the bend modifier on the front wall again, but this time it was acting really strange.  I moved the center point thinking that was the problem, but it still looked the same.  For the X and Z axis bends, it looked like it was doing the right thing, just on the wrong axis, but when I was on the Y, it didn't really bend it, just sort of revolved around some strange point on the wall.  I think I just got luck the first time when I played around with it.  Does anyone have some pointers for me?

So here it is, 4 walls.
