This is a chance for all of us to tell eachother about our weirdest or unexplained happenings.

My friend Steve and I witnessed a UFO in the summer of my Junior year of high school.  We were on the way back from a softball game at night and were driving on the back roads in farm country.  We both saw it right away, a large disc shaped object hovering the field to our left, going the speed we were.  It had a large pole extending from the center of the disc and on top there was a large strobe light flashing.  It followed along with us for a good mile and then disappeared.  We backtracked twice but did not see it again.  We were supposed to go to a party that night, but instead we both went home, shaken from what we just saw.  We are totally convinced it was a UFO!!

What was rustling in the bushes at pitch black night on our camping trip. I don't know what was in that wilderness at the time.

saw another one where I took my shoes off and put them in the corner of my tent while camping and thought it was something. (I was rather young)

Maybe not strange or supernatural, but I would define it as "weird" as in surreal or only in a movie sort of way

When I was a kid our family went to Disneyland and explored LA. During the trip, we got stuck outside our hotel late at night waiting for a shuttle bus. In the back of the parking lot, there were shady looking men wearing suits hunched over the trunk of a car, with what looked like guns. They were like a real life Vincent and Jules. You don't say anything, you just keep walking.

Just 3 months something weird happened when I was on vacation. I awoke to the most beautiful piano music ever. Sleepy and drowsy as I was, I looked into the room and I could swear I saw someone I've met before but died. I wasn't scared and went to sleep somehow feeling asured things were okay and alright. I just wish I remember the melody from the piano that I heard.....

Yikes. If it wasn't real it was you watched too much Ghost Hunters 3.gif

I remember once I saw a silhouette of a man standing in my doorframe to my bedroom at night. He walked off. I forgot to list that one. Ever since I thought my house is haunted. I still do. 34.gif

After a bit of time it dawned on me... we were watching a satellite! It was the first time I had ever seen one with the naked eye. Quite cool and weird. It was so faint, and rather orange.quote>

It's possible it was the International Space Station.  It is visible to the human eye if you know where and when to look.

Go here and use the drop down list on the left to select your country and take it from there.

My next opportunity is tomorrow evening.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Ghost Hunters? Never heard of that. Sounds like something I'd never watch. I'm not into horror at-all.

The thing is, I'm a very down to earth guy. IN the morning I checked if something else could have been the reason for seeing the silhouette. But nothing in my room could ever explain the shape and figure or even me seeing the face of that person. The piano is also left unexplained as I was staying in a cottage park with no place for a piano to be anywhere. I'm also sure there were no tv's left on anywhere as it sounded like the piano was being played right next to me.

The ISS is very bright and moves pretty fast.. It could've been a polar communications satellite of the Iridium constellation (even then, these satellites usually flash due to their highly reflective solar panels) or any other low-orbiting satellite, there are lots of visible satellites at night. 4.gif

I spent some of my summer nights watching satellite trails when I was younger 17.gif

I can't explain, what possessed Carl Crawford to try to advance to 3rd base causing him to be doubled up to end the 9th inning.

While not an encounter as such, I do have a strange meteorological phenomenon.

It almost invariably rains here on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, except when I take an umbrella. Then it is usually perfectly fine. Rain seems less common on other days.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

The 3rd one looks like a Lenticular cloud, the 2nd looks like some sort of funky cloud, and the first one...? Venus? Or maybe it is a UFO...

It was translucent, like a mist of sorts. Besides, my parents are taller than that. 3.gif

I remember once seeing a giant red eyeball on my door.

On my 10th B-Day waaaay back in '74, my father and I were leaving my grandparents house when I looked up into the starry sky [something I always did at night for as long as I can remember] and spotted this massive red spherical ball of light moving across the sky. It wasn't a plane nor a helicopter because you couldn't hear it, plus it had no blinking lights and it left a smoke trail of the likes I'd never seen before or since. I brought it to the old man's attention and we watched it move across the sky and disappear behind some hills in the distance. I've always assumed it was a meteor but as I grew older and more of an understanding of meteors, I knew it couldn't have been one. To this day, I still have no idea what it was nor have I ever seen anything like that since.

Hiya, Dizastrow, cool thread.

A few years back, as I approached the town of Rapid City, South Dakota, on Interstate 90, I topped a hill near the Deadwood Ave Exit that overlooks the city.  It was full dark, between 9 and 10PM.  I was on my way, alone, to pick up a friend at the airport.  There were a few barely visible stars/planets in all the light pollution, and no moon.

To my right, over the Black Hills that encircle the western part of town, a huge (moon-size or so), round, luminescent body appeared in the sky.  I say appeared, but really it seemed to gradually arc into view.  It seemed rather vaporous.  It floated for a moment or two, then, moving faster than anything I have ever seen in the sky, it dipped gradually and arced away.  It moved so fast it left a light trail.

The whole thing lasted maybe 15-20 seconds.  I drove on, shaken, telling myself I had been watching too much X-Files.  My friend hadn't seen anything from the plane...20.gif

Edit:

Josh, the cartoon is about the girl telling all the others she sees a space ship.  They all think it is something else, but then she points out an alien.  "And you thought I was crazy, eh?"  The others swear loudly.

When I was little I always thought that this hand with razors on his fingers would reach up from under my bed, and slice me half to death  if I wasn't laying still as can be. 46.gif
