I looks great, but i think the lot size need to be 4x8, if you make it 4x9 people will be force to destroy a lot of there buildings just to fit this building.

I have to disagree darknono... 8 should be the correct measure since 128 divided by 16 is 8... So... Not to sound negative or anything but you should check that math... :)

:P I agree with you cmdp123789 for the 16x8=128 , but the measures of the building in the real life do not correspond exactly with the maxis scale. Precisely my building is 128.26 meters without the sidewalk that I would keep, it's an 9x4 without sidewalk. I'm obliged to play with scale.

@Aaron: you're right, this size is an enigma :(

Scaling the building's length down by 0.003% will make it fit in the 8x4 lot and would not be noticeable whatsoever. Aaron is right, you really don't need that HUGE front sidewalk there, remember that the roads in-game have their own sidewalks. If someone wants the massive sidewalk there they can add it themselves, but for those of us making a NYC recreation, a 9x4 lot simply will not fit and we will not be able to use the building.

Also, take a look at the illuminated windows on Olympic. It looked to me like some corner windows are lit but the corresponding corner windows are not, which would be impossible in real life unless there are diagonal walls at the corners.

I just saw it and commented! :golly: What a fine upload, and what an improvement. You have really made astonishing progress.

By the way, yesterday I had a look at 599 Lexington Avenue. I totally loved the building by day, but somehow the night render is odd. The entire building seems to shine and looks much brighter than other buildings by night. It's really a pity because otherwise it is totally superb! Is there any chance for a fixed version? :)

Thank you for stopping by to say that the nite lights are brighter. Are you using dark Nite, if so I check back with the files and seen that the dark nite sc4 model was exported in Maxis nite render. It's my fault for not checking out the maxis nite files. I hope Darknono can fix that. :P

    THE LANDMARK ICON

Okay, Here's is the template for the Landmark icon. It's pretty much the same as the one on SC4devoition but I have added fixes and more stuff to it. The text in the Template is the same style that Jason, Nofunk and SimHoTToDDy uses for there Landmark icon for BSP. I was thinking NYBT needed there own, and I decided not really we can use Jason, Nofunk and SimHoTToDDy style and plus the team make American buildings, so we are not so different jutst a different team making building form a different American City. :D

Another thing in the template is an example, with Darknono's Olympic Tower as the Icon default, you can remove them to fit you own in the template for next plopable release. :)

    http://www.mediafire...hc35964b11wbk7s

Here's the link for Ilives LE, this sc4 software can change the landmark icon and add some descriptions to the icon when your mouse hover over the icon in the land mark menu. It can do other things to. :D

Yeah, I downloaded the DarkNite version, and I definitely have DarkNite active. I plopped some other DarkNite BATs around (Ford Building, Barclay Tower, Cadillac Tower), and they all looked normal. Only 599 Lexington Avenue shone brightly as if the entire tower was somehow glowing. On the other hand, I think there was no shadow (a typical sign of MaxisNite), so probably it was DarkNite, but some setting got messed up somehow.

Hopefully Darknon35 can fix it. One thing you have to be careful with is making sure you press Dark Nite if your planning to do a Dark Nite export.

I don't know if I've understood. Have you a problem with the version of the Olympic Tower Darknite ? In my game, it's working correctly and I've correctly select the button "Darknite" render for the export.

About the 599 Lexington ave, I can prepare an update soon, but I would like finish some buildings before like GM bldg and others ... who are in preparation ;)

Thanks all for yours post :D .

For the WFC, yes, I've effectively considered combining all buildings in the same lot, it's the reason why I have make walls without windows on the 4 WFC an here the 2 WFC 8) . But I'm not sure my computer take no fire during the exportation :D .

The sherry Netherlands looks great... I think I mentioned that would be a nice a addition a couple of posts ago? ... Anyways... About the wfc, I think it would be great to make them together into one lot, but, what happens to recreations? It would be a huge lot and the marina and the surroundings won't be possible to recreate, unless you modify it with the PIM-X to make the buildings' sizes 1x1.... Right?

Awesome work so far please keep it up... Your recreations look good... And it's amazing the speed and effort you put into it... I mean... It's like you are BAT machine!!! Lol

The marina would be completely possible to recreate. In fact, because of the shape of the marina that would probably be the best way to create it. Also, having the lot transit enabled with cars driving under the walkway would be a great touch too. :golly: About the GM Building everything is looking great, but I would check the trees, they look too dark, and the brick materials are tiling. I have a brick bitmap you might be able to use, but Aaron is the unrivaled master of all things brick so I would check with him.

I don't Know if my computer can resist at the export of ALL the WFC lol, but I think the marina can be build separatly of the complex, but  :

First Idea: I export the buildings separatly and we plop them ( like an puzzle ) W2W in the game.

Second idea: I can try to export the 2, 3 and 4 in the same BAT with garden and plaza and the 1 WFC only.

Third idea: Export 1&2 WFC and 3&4 WFC.

What's the solution do you prefer ? :???:

I'll applied your request for the GM ( leaves colors and bricks textures ).

Hey :D , it's my 100th post on the forum

Wow, I'm totally blown away by all the good things in here! :golly:

I'll restrict myself to just one thing lest I lose track:

Darknono, the night lights on Olympic Tower are fine. In haven't checked out the building myself yet, but the screenshots look perfect. Don't change a thing! I was referring to 599 Lexington Avenue only. The night scene on that one looks too bright; the entire building is lit up.

@T Wrecks: ok :) , like I've announced, an updated of the 599 Lex Ave will be done ;)

Here an small update of the Sherry Netherlands Hotel, I've rescaled the BAT of 133% but I think it's too much and he need an scaling around the 123 or 125% .

Make sure all of the proportions are right. If they're off they may make the 133% scaling look off. For instance, if the roof is angled too steeply to begin with and then scaled up it will be exaggerated, but if everything is proportions correctly from the beginning a 133% scale should be perfect. Also, keep in mind that if you deviate from the 133% scaling your building will end up looking strange next to any correctly scaled building.

Shame there isn't actually a definite correct scale for buildings though...

With how steep the roof is now, maybe 133% might be too much for it. If you'd like, 125% or so may perhaps be a better choice.

EDIT: I don't know why, but I keep feeling that you went over 133%...

You could also rework the crown perhaps, so it doesn't look too stretched.

Darkono, if u look at the Sherry Netherland Building roof, u will notice that the back stack looks like a perfect square and hide the whole triangle back roof. The last level of the building is a little recessed compared to the rest of the "top tower". That part especially looks a little yellow brownish. For the roof as the others said it's a little stretched (in the height way). Except that the rest of the building in term of dimension seems completely correct to me. Here a pic of the top which could help you improving that masterpiece. Good luck and take your time :) Btw, the top is very French style especially with Gargoyles. It makes me think to the Tour Saint Jacques in Paris. :)
