Can you guess the airplane?

Hey there! I lately got really interested in airplanes and stuff, so I wanted to start a guessing game about them!

Rules:

1. Only one guess per round. A round is one airplane. If you guess multiple times, your first guess will still count.

2. NO double posting or spamming. The first rule co-exists with this one.

3. You have to guess an actual airplane. It's simple. Just don't say something like the Batmobile. To a mod, that would constitute as spam.

4. Have fun!

Round 1

I know, a hard one right off the bat!

I never seen an a320 with wingtips like that, at that angle, and I also never seen one that long too. Look at some specific features, and you'll see. a320 has 2 wheeles per leg on the main gear, this has 4 per leg. There are specific features that give it away that it is an a330.

I am a pro too. Trust me. 2.gif

Also, Hamish is right. If you click the image, you'll see what airplane it is. Please, consider downloading the pic, renaming it, then re upload it. It actually makes it challenging.

I didn't notice the wheels and wingtips (it's really blurry) 3.gif I just knew that from my guesses, the A320 almost always looked like this.

As this is known to be an a330-300, I will provide the next pic. I'll give a hint, its retired, as far as we would know.

guesstheplanepic.jpg Its tough, but should be easy if you know planes

This is gonna make me sound like a nub, but because I don't know all of that photo stuff, and Tommy does, do you wanna take over the thread, Tommy? Or does anyone else want to?

One question: is this limited to civil aircraft or does it include military?

Guess: Since you say it's retired, and the engine (if that's what it is) doesn't look like a civil one, I'll go with a Grumman F-14

Returning soon[ish] from a long time away...

Yup, its the SR-71a Blackbird. here is a tough one. What aircraft is powered by this engine. Its commercial and actively used. If you know aircraft and specifically the engine designs, this should be easy, and very distictive. Picture was by me, taken on 8/25/10

    hmm....now what kind of 747, 741, 742B, 742C, 74SP, 743, 744, 744D, 744ER. I'll go with PW4056 for 747-400.

Sorry for this double post, and un1 you are incorrect, when I meant on the right track aircraft wise, I was saying that you are in the right area, but not the general model. It is a commercial airliner by Boeing, but not a 747 engine (any model).

Yes, it is a Pratt and Whitney PW4098 used on the 777-300. It is located at the Smithsonian Udvar Hazy Center its something to look at. One look at it from me and I was like... wow. Really cool, anyway, stroy time over 4.gif

Neext Pic. It is retired, and used by the Navy.

It is a bit tough. If it doesn't get answered within a week or two correctly, I will reveal it.

Yes, it is an A-4 Skyhawk. I thought this might have been a while for a response. Next picture:
