Your talent for realism is easy to see.  It's difficult to believe this is a custom city.

The powerplant and petrochemical plant are very well done.  With the limited lots available for industry, you've definately got skill here.  The interchanges and residential neighborhoods are also impressive.

Can't wait to see the refinery you mentioned!

Really wonderfully set up industrial areas, along with the retail areas too. The way you made that I-110/US-190 interchange is almost exactly how the northern I-95/I-695 interchange near Baltimore is, with the carriageways crossing over each other and then crossing back, except the crossover occurs on both parts. Check it out on Google maps or something... I don't know if you were aware of that one, but it's always nice to see unique interchange setups. 10.gif

To oroen: I know this interchange in Baltimore, and an another exit in Birmingham, Alabama, next the downtown.

I tried to build it more closer, but with the diagonal bridge from the NAM it's difficult. 22.gif

To ACEfanatic: Thank you! I'm waiting too! I must to put in order some of my cities before and to begin to build the downtown.

I must to plan it! 44.gif

To Deathtoall: Merci! So but it's not the better urbanism you can do (to much dependant of the car). I trying to put some $CO near or in my suburbs.

Thank you to read and/or to post on this CJ! 35.gif

I really like your road system! I like how you use avenues and one-ways as your highways, and make crazy huge intersections with them. Great work I want to see more of that!

Holy cow!  How did you get those gently curving look with your highways in the regional view?

Good work35.gif  I love the industrial zone.

    How! Thank to all!

To: sloppet, crazyarchitect, GLENNI, jacqulina and jessyka who?:
I have some pictures ready to be posted I upploaded this weekend, they will be puted tonight, because I don't have enough time today, but stay tuned!

To: siqitornto: thank you, my friend! For the curving effect, I've got inspired by the CJ of Edmonton: like curve with pixels (on paintbrush, for ex.) I did the same with my roads...but it's better for two portions of roads they're not facing insthead a 4km long curve who go throught your maps, it became difficult to build next (I think I must to post some pics)...

But the coincidence is fun, because yesterday I said: Bull****, Baton Rouge is covered by curved roads and some other non-orthogonal networks, I must to let it down and to began a city like Phoenix... I get on the STEX, typed Phoenix on the search engin, two maps appears, I read the appendice...110 large maps...Sh** to much...I prefer Baton Rouge so far...9.gif

    As promised: new update!

    SCOTLANDVILLE, LA

One more time, I want to thanks all people who come visit my CJ44.gif

You've got the chance to see on the first page two pics about the reversed stack interchange I build for this same city. Since this weekend, this suburb north of Baton Rouge is finished but some details may to be puted in order.

Here is the downtown of the town, nothing interesting. Retailers are situated along this busy avenue...
In advance, big big thanks to Bobbo662 for these amazing BAT!!!

    scotlandvillela1mai06112333190.jpg

The famous Scotlandville Mall: 85 shops, 10 restaurants, a patio and a large car park, just front of Berwood Avenue...
This area is not a great example of urbanism.

    scotlandvillela21avr0611233318.jpg

Just here, Berwood and Airline Hwy cross. A precision, Berwood is fictional 33.gif

    scotlandvillela28avr0611233318.jpg

Fonctional orto-non-ortho interchange, in the north part of the city. Just on the down left corner of the picture, a typical problem I got many time: abandonned homes...why? 42.gif

    scotlandvillela23juin061123332.jpg

A big thanks to justanothersim86 for these great suburban homes: but a problem becam with these houses, they remplaced
homes that have before 5-6 sim per home. Now it's 13 sims per home! 9.gif  my population did a great jump put the unemplyement too! 14.gif

For the final, Scotlandville by night.
Here is a city without nightlife...everybody goes to the acadian distric near downtown Baton Rouge 44.gif

    Okay!
A great work is waiting to me this week:
-Resolving unenployement problems in three of my cities
-I dowloaded some tree mod by cycledog and andreas roth and jeronji (big thanks to you 44.gif) so I will re-work my forest.
-To take (I forget often to take pics) pics this time and to put'em on a hosting site ( www.imageshack.us thank you too 44.gif).

So! Just tomorrow to work (9.gif to do nothing, sure) and then...weekend...ahhhh35.gif

    Good day to you! 44.gif

Awesome mall and shop areas. They look great!I really love the amazing interchanges you come up with. The reason the houses may be abandoned is because sometimes the sims are to dumb to navigate the roads and then they say it is to long of a commute time, but it is really the sim being an idoit.lol...I think you should just have more shops closer if that is possible.

I love the night shot it looks so realistic.Like flying over the city in a low flying plane!44.gif

Great work on this great C.J.!44.gif

Excellent setups of the interchanges; I do a bit of one-way road interchanges myself so it's nice to see others doing likewise. Retails areas look nice too, especially the way you've set up the Scotlandville Mall.

    Thanks to all!!!

To Cjah: Thanks, man! I read the information you can found when clicking on a house, yeah, traffic is too long... So, I'll put some commercial building near of them and to work on a bus system...
But, lol, I'm myself surprised by the reallism of the night shot18.gif

To PhilsCafe and newyorkrunaway1: Many thanks for your comments! 44.gif

To oroen: Thank you! Yeah, it's more funny than the premade ingame interchange...Retails area is a thing I found incredible in the US, miles and miles of retailers...and they have a better look architecturaly than in my country (who they looks like ugly wharehouses, but they did some efforts since 5-6 years).

49.gif I'll thanks Simgoober for the BAT he does, I've used on my Scotlandville Mall!

So, everyone, hard work is waiting to me!!!!

Thanks to read, post and 35.gif my CJ!

Great suburbs! I like that lowrise town!
I guess that unemployment is because of long commuting time. Have You checked this out? I mean your custom highways look great but the ingame highways have a higher speed limit.

i like this, very realistic. The bridge over the river on the first page, how did you get it to go over the road as well?

I may have to do some interchanges like this on my city where i have urban sprawl :-)

As a native of Thibodaux, LA, with family in the Baton Rouge area, it was nice to see this CJ! It made me feel (almost) at home. Great job so far! The shopping areas and oil refineries look so realistic! I look forward to seeing more updates.

Hello! Thanks for your critics! 44.gif

I worked all the weekend on my region, specially on Scotlandville and Fairwoods (south of Scotlandville). Population grow, commercial demand is high and industrial Hi-Tech too. Downtown will be build, I think through this month (I hope, but I have enough suburban cities to build if not...2.gif )

I (as everytime) missed to take pics (that will be done this afternoon, normally)...

To Jacqulina, Nardo69 (I'm workin' on it, I build CO at every corners...21.gif) and sloppet: thanks for comments! 44.gif

To Bongoswimp: Yeah, I downloaded the suburban homes from Justanothersim (excellent work) the problem, if it's Chicago set, NY set, they grows like mushrooms, and particullary one model, the 1x2 white brick with swimming pool...I don't know how to limit'em...42.gif

To davejowsey: I've used NAM (Network Add-on Mod) overpass puzzle pieces (you will find them on the STEX)...and yeah, sprawl for ever (mind, with Google Earth, I did a tout over Phoenix, and it's ugly...22.gif) but...

To schlenn: thanks man! I'm glad to meet you! (Je suis heureux de te conna

    Maybe tonight! 35.gif

An important question: on the image hoster site imageshack.us, are we limited in number of picture? (I know for the size) 35.gif
