    Here is part 1 of the airport update. There are just too many pictures to show all at once, so I will continue in a second post whenever I get more time.

    <ahttp://img370.imageshack.us/img370/4587/p24nd.jpg align=baseline>

    Today we will focus on the main section of the airport, located in the front.

    <ahttp://img370.imageshack.us/img370/6834/p33fr.jpg align=baseline>

    Here is the main commercial entrance to the airport.

    <ahttp://img370.imageshack.us/img370/9586/p48ae.jpg align=baseline>

    Long term parking lot A. This sea of pavement is just after the entrance, and it actually gets tram service, since it is so far from the main terminals. Lot A can hold 950 cars.

    <ahttp://img383.imageshack.us/img383/9862/p53hd.jpg align=baseline>

    Long term parking lot B. It also gets tram service, and has a capacity of 945 cars.

    <ahttp://img383.imageshack.us/img383/9509/p66rg.jpg align=baseline>

    The airport bypass. For people who don't want to go to the airport, the highway actually tunnels under the airport, and re-emerges at the other end.

    <ahttp://img383.imageshack.us/img383/3694/p73ea.jpg align=baseline>

    Liberty Park - Construction began 11/3/2001 in rememberance of those who lost their lives on September 11, and was completed 2/1/2002. At night, pillars of light reach tword the sky, and the massive Gazebo and many other features throughout the park are illuminated by 307,261 light bulbs.

    <ahttp://img378.imageshack.us/img378/4908/p81xb.jpg align=baseline>

    The National Museum of Aviation is conveniently located on the airport grounds.

    <ahttp://img378.imageshack.us/img378/8903/p96og.jpg align=baseline>

    To bring in money, The Airport Cafe', a touristy resturaunt with a massive gift shop is built on the opposite side of the highway, in a building that is almost an exact copy of the Aviation Museum.

    <ahttp://img377.imageshack.us/img377/9772/p101sx.jpg align=baseline>

    A very short walking distance from the terminals is the short term parking garages. Each building can hold 600 cars. They are linked together on the 4th floors by pedestrian bridges that cross over the often crowded roads.

    <ahttp://img377.imageshack.us/img377/1622/p112gu.jpg align=baseline>

    Close to the terminals is the King's Hotel, the tallest building in the whole airport. A web of pedestrian bridges link the 2 buildings with each other and with the terminals and short term parking garages.

    <ahttp://img377.imageshack.us/img377/8363/p122jz.jpg align=baseline>

    Terminal 1, the regional terminal.

    <ahttp://img377.imageshack.us/img377/281/p131zj.jpg align=baseline>

    Terminal 2 is one of the 2 international terminals, and has its own mini control tower.

    <ahttp://img377.imageshack.us/img377/4604/p143nw.jpg align=baseline>

    Terminal 3 is identical to Terminal 2, and is another international terminal.

    Well, thats all for now! more will come later!

    As always, comments are welcome and appreciated.

    Very realistically designed airport. Good size, lots of parking and auxiliary facilities. Runway layout could have been varied a bit but I'm not really complaining. I especially like all the pedestrian bridges between the parking lots.

    Also, could I ask what building the Aviation museum is?

    --- Continuation of the Airport Update---

    p166hd.jpg

    The central Control Tower. This tower monitors both incoming and outgoing runways, and is literally the brains of the whole airport.

    p177ud.jpg

    Hangar Sections A through E.

    p180fv.jpg

    A close up of Hangar section F. Due to the large number of corprate HQ's located in Newark, Newark Intl' has a very high population of private jets. Wisking away corprate bigwigs on their weekly and monthly trips into the city.

    With all that out of the way, let us now take a look at the rear of the airport, which is more cargo oriented.

    p193pe.jpg

    An overall shot of the back of Newark Intl.

    p204sx.jpg

    Hanger Sections G through I.

    The heli-port complete with hangars.

    p225wf.jpg

    The airport fire station and central police station.

    p231ky.jpg

    The main refueling station.

    p248za.jpg

    The cargo port.

    Cargo Plot A.

    p266zr.jpg

    The cargo control tower. This control tower monitors all cargo and light craft, and serves as a backup should anything happen to the main control tower.

    p276om.jpg

    The truck weigh station. All Trucks must be weighed before they drop off their cargo or before they leave with cargo. Reasons for this range from national security to making sure the weight of the trucks won't put too much strain on roads.

    p286nv.jpg

    Secondary fuel station.

    p294ho.jpg

    The train stop.

    p308fh.jpg

    And finally, here is where the Airport Bypass emerges at the other end of Newark Intl.

    *Phew!* Thats the last of the airport pictures. 1.gif

    Thanks for the comments guys!

    To answer a question: The walkways I used are included in the newest version of the NAM! To find them, just go to pedestrian streets, and click tab. Cycle through the whole list, and you will find everything you need.

    I really like the two modern and much better-looking control towers in that airport. Nice job and great attention to detail with that airport, MayorTim.
