I like it, however, I agree there is a lot of repition (which is normal, as most apartment complexes have repitition.) and they look a smidge out of place where they are. I still like 'em, though. Good work.

Yes ther're are a lot of repition, but if you look at a real neibourhood similar to Karcia, you would see mostly the same designs on the houses. And they look out of place for the moment since I haven't put anything around it, when the city expands all the way out I think they will fit very nicely into the suburban feel.

And thank you for showing interest in my city 4.gif

Short update from the new suburb of Vica. A small but growing community just of the E4 in the south parts.

There's not that much to say about it... it's not as wealthy as Hayden but it's close. There are some small shops a soccer field and a public pool.

Today there's the big anniversary of Marinora City's 6 month birthday!

Altough the big celebrations haven't really started around the city, big posters had been set up all over the city.

A parade route have also been revealed.

    Here's the posters:

As the night falls on Marinora City the celebrations continue through the niht and at 22.00 (10.00 pm) the huge fire works go off, over Downtown and Waterfront.

There's not much more to say so I'll just give you the pics 2.gif

Thank you for this amazing six months and I look forward to hopefully another six months! (if you can transfer your current cities to CXL 2011)

Again thank you for all the feedback and comments! I hope you'll keep on reading! 9.gif

Your city is just breathtakingly beautiful.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

Your city is just how I want mine to be: green and developped...

By the way you have so much cool stuff... How do you get the footways, the stadium, the parking lots etc... And do they work (the footways and the parking lots)?

Wow! I've loved the last few updates. I like the crafty use of roads and one way roads for on ramps and a highway. Great work! Can't wait to see more!

This is an amazing journal and shows what CitiesXL's potential is/was. Marinora feels like a real place. Keep up the impressive work.

Sometimes the repetition does seem excessive, but the zoomed out photos look really good.  When you look at satellite imagery you see that apartment complexes and planned developments are painfully repetitive.  Excessive repetition has it's place too; it can be used to give the feel of barracks, corporate or government housing.  I think you've also done a good job of mixing things up.  I personally like some of the areas that repeat a few buildings, so there is some repetition and also variation.  The repetition/variation in the central area in the photo below with all the red roofs is the look I often try to build.

I've been really busy for a while now but I should be able to get an update out on maybe Thursday (23rd September) and I'm planning on giving you a huge load of pictures like a "godbye gift" Since we don't know if we can play our current sities in CXL 2011. Maybe I'll give you some info about the UCXLJ! 2.gif

ludmamm: It is indeed possible to play your current cities in CXL2011, however, you'll have to wait until the mods are avaliable for the sequel. And if Focus has solved it, you'll be able to continue playing the older version. 4.gif

I do know it's possible to keep playing the current cities, but I'm not sure if I want to. It's both fun to start over and I'm not sure I have the patient to delete all the mods in Marinora, sonce there's alot of them. But we'll se what happens! 2.gif
