Since I've been doing some testing i haven't built alot today but I've started with one project.

It's the " West Marinora River Housing Project" and the goal is to give skilled workers a modern and cheap place to live, close to work and leisure. It's going to be a number of middens apartment buildings and some highdens. It will be a open and green neighbourhood, with a school and a clinic. There will be a public pool in the middle and right next to it a skateboard ramp. 

The numbers of houses and apartments are still a secret but it will be unvieled soon as the apartments go for sale/lease.

Also the city revealed it's new logo done by the artist David Hong.

His description is that the gray areas represent the built areas in the city, the green areas represent the big open parks and the red contour represents the highways running around the Marinroa.

I like the new logo a lot!!! It will have to be modified as the city grows larger though, correct?

Well... hehe i wasn't planning on it. The Logo is not to look like the city from above, the diferent colors just represent different things in the city.

 As I have told you Marinora City is the capitol of "The Land with no Name" and ofcourse the king of "The Country with no Name" lives in Marinora City. He's castel is in the outhskirts of town and has recently gone through a huge renovation. The caste has been rebuilt from the ground up.

Here are some pics of the early stage of the renovation.

Lets start off with the masterplan:

A short update today but with a little "Updateplan" at the end of it

The Royal Castle is getting closer and closer to the finish as we speak and i thougt I'd give you some pics of the current progress.

 Here we go! a HUGE update today as i promised with lots of new things.

Some news from the city is that the number of inhabitants reached 2.000.000 this week, beating Stockholm (my home city)! A big victory in the quest to be a big modern city!

When the 2 million ark was reached the new and modern City Hall opened in Downtown. Its a bold and modern design perfect for the city. Here's a pic:

Many older buildings such as churchs and museums has been renovated to deal with the increasing population.

One such building is the Westbury Cathedral:

And the Royal Theatre at North Greens:

Also the famous Marinora Museum of Dance has gotten a mayor touch up:

And the renovation of the Royal Castle is done:

The Yard

The suburbs are growing by the day. Hayden is the wealthiest and most fast growing suburb:

Avanel is a more low wealth suburb closer to Downtown, but its also growing fast:

The city is starting too get rather big now, but there's still plenty of space too be developed:

The Marinora Football Championships are closing in. Here's one of the arenas where the games will be played:

Due to the rapidly increasing populations many roads through out the city is suffering from some mayor congestions. A commuter rail is currently being built in the city. Some parts of the rails are laid out and the finishing touches on the stations are the only thing left before the opening of the first part (see the map). 

The design of the trains is still kept a secret but it will soon be official.

What a fantastic work ! you are a pro I have seen the evolution of this city and I was very impressed by the realism. I guess you have passed time in seeing satellite maps to obtain this results, no ?

@realdimesion: Tnx for your kind words I have tried too make the city as realistic as possible and yes to make it realistis I have spent hours in both Google Eart and Maps sketching and taking notes. The only real thing standing between me and 100% realism is the lack of transit systems.

I use Photoshop Elements 6, but im sure you can use any Photoshop there is. Sadly yes you have to pay for it. 

Unless you download it illigaly, but i dont want anyone too do that!!!                                ()

Im currently working on a little tutorial on how to do theese maps. I'll try too get it up between 10th-15th of August. So be sure too look back then

Yeah double tracks would have been nice but the lack of space in downtown made me build all the rails through downtown underground. Since the rails only are scenery (MC didn't finish them) I have no "real" Downtown station. I pretend there's a underground station for the commuter rail and subway system.

WONDERFUL BEAUFTIFUL AMAZING CITY!!! Really good work. I wonder that one day i can build cities like you. .D But! How do you build these rails, parkings (in front of stadium)??? Some kind of...modification? I have limited edition and i can´t build this. .((

Sorry for offtopic. But! I see a lot of trees in your city. So i download unlocker. It unlocks a lot of things. But i still can´t put trees.

I understand, the trees are not from the unlockermod, thats another mod called New Plazas mod (link:

If you install that in your .paks folder you should find the trees under Decorations -> Fillers

Ok to try too keep the shedule I posted a while ago im uploading some short stats of the country where Marinora City is the capital. This is just a little part of the stats and I will upload more tomorrow.

Well it puts it in 18th place right under Turkey and above Indonesia. USA is in the top with 14,430 trillion(!) USD. This country only has 547,796 billion, that's 1/26 of USA.

It's now officially called Kingdom of the Wadur Islands or just Wadur.

And some news from Marinora City.

The city is very wealthy at the moment and is making a lot of money. This makes it possible too build several new "Mega structures" or "Blueprints". Five buildings broke ground yesterday.

It's going too be hard too top the last update (I'm not counting the stats as an update) but I'll give it a try. Most of the pics will be pics of construction sites. Maybe not the most thrilling things too look at, but you can see it as many many teasers of what's too come

Like I said I've got some Megastructures under construction in town and I wanted too show you some of them

But first some random pics of Downtown!

First we have this, The Transamerica Pyramid. It will be a nice addition to the fast growing skyline of Downtown.

Some pics from the beginning of the construction.

When ready this skyscraper will reach a height of 260 m (850 ft). The highest building in Marinora City. But not for long because a taller building is under construction. More on that later

Another great addition too Marinora City is The Marinora Eye (couldn't think of anything more cleaver)

Construction has reached about half way and the grand opening is scheduled for 10th August 2010.

Close too North Greens, in the northwest corner of Downtown, a funny shaped building is taking shape.

Its called Lincoln Tower. It will become a 40 story office building and reach a height of 180 metres (591 ft).

This is the building I was talking about earlier. It will become the highest building in Marinora City with a height of 319 metres (1,047 ft). It's called the Chrysler Building and it's located in the center of Downtown.

At Waterfront a new opera house is being built. Not much more too say :/

One question: I see a railtrack tunnel in the picture where you show the Transamerica Pyramid. Does that mean that in unlocker mod 3 the train bridges/tunnel work?
