Hi. I started this topic to see wherever there is anyone willing to make any australian landmarks or buildings. I would make some but my Plug in manager doesn't work. (even with the patch thing from simcity.com) I will try to get pictures for things that people know the name of and don't have pictures. webshots.com is a good site. Don't worry about Sydney Harbour Bridge because you can build that in the bridges menu thing. Thanks.

Yes, we really need Australian landmarks. Me as an Australian Citizen would like to see this:

If anyone could make it.

My personal favorite, the chifley tower in Sydney, Australia.

SC4, Forevermore!

Currently preoccupied with architecture school...lurking with caution.

I actually got some ideas from this tower.  Mine does not have the curved glass structure, as I wanted to create a purer art deco feel to it.  Mine als does not have the massive base structure, but yeah, this is where I got most of the inspiration from.

lakeyboy, i had problems with my plugin manager to, make sure that you put the file in to program files/simcity4/apps Then create a shortcut to it from your desktop, this should fix the problem.

As a homesick Sydneysider, I'll probably make some Aussie buildings. You might be aware of my Sydney Tower over at SCC, and I've also got the Opera House in the works (I'll race you, JEC2.gif). I'm a little reluctant to commit to anything else right now, as I have several projects underway at the moment, but I'd certainly like to do some more Australian buildings in the near future. 1.gif

It's probably not needed, but here's another pic of World Tower:

Took it myself <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif> The thing's structurally finished (it looks complete anyway).

And you can find images of Q1 here:

well, looks like my opera house became corrupted for the second time. so, it's up to simnic and kd5rax. i might be able to fix it, but if their opera houses are good, then i won't bother (they should be, considering their other buildings).

Here's a building that I requested on the BAT requests from Australia. Maybe you can do it?

Excellent!  I am very much looking forward to some Australian landmarks - esp the Opera House.  BTW, I have seen Centrepont/AMP Tower in some city screenshots?  Does anyone know if that is available?

Other suggestions include (all Sydney based, of course!):

The new 126 Phillip Street Blg:

Luna Park:

GPO, Martin Place:

Luna Park (either Melbourne or Sydney, they're basically the same) would be a real challenge.

did you use a .3ds file from 3d cafe? you can see mine in the Calatrava Collection thread that has drifted down the list.
jcab aurora place is on my list of to do buildings, just couldn't get enough pictures that i needed, though. i'm also making sydney in simcity, i might show it in the city journals soon.

I love this building 1.gif By one of my favourite architects too. I have actually had a go at modeling it, but found it too difficult to get the curves and shapes looking right. Maybe after i finish my New Zealand landmark series i'll give it another go, because i too really want it in SC4.

Here's a comparison shot (I used the sails from the same file k5rax used, and built the base and restaurant around that). I need some night photos though. I also can't find a good texture for the roof, the tiles come out horrible when it is rendered (not shown in the image below). Also, for those who want chifley tower, just use ong condos since it is basically the same building, but without the large circular area on the side.

Lol, I never noticed that, but you're right. Maxis must love Chifley Tower, because the upper part was probably the model for both Brock Furnishings and Lilliard Audio as well.

Both of your Opera Houses look great! Mine isn't nearly that far along yet. It's sort of been an off and on project since the BAT came out. I'm doing it the hard way and modelling everything by hand, mostly because I like giving myself headaches. 3.gif

At least, not without good reason.
Was that Opera House ever released? I've not seen it anywhere.

I think JEC gave up on the model, which I don't think he has anymore. Compared to the high standard of teh work he produces now, this model would have a long way to go to up to scratch now.
