RHW Creating traffic problem

Here is the problem...

I laid out some RHWs in my new city with that had a direct connection from the Industrial Zones to the edge of the map and connecting with the rest of my region but...when i checked the "Traffic Query Tool" i saw that the Freight Trucks were all getting off the expressway and taking senceless routes all over the city on all the side streets then getting back on the expressway the going to the next city. This problem just showed up from out of nowhere and it is really causing my side-streets a lot of problems...

Has anyone had this same problem??? How did you fix it???

Thanks

Hi takelove88-

It sounds like there may be some sort of "obstruction" in the middle of your RHW--perhaps an overpass or ramp interface piece facing the wrong direction.  Check to make sure the yellow and white lines line up properly.  Pictures of the city tile where the issue is occuring would help in diagnosing the issue.

I find using U-Drive it missions is really useful when this kind of thing happens. If the vehicle you are driving disappears at some point on the highway you have isolated the problem piece.

Yeah I thought that i might have placed a tile the wrong direction too then i realized that in one of my smaller cities i used the two-lane RHW (one lane per direction) the same exact problem occurred.

If that's not the source of the issue, there's really any number of things it could be.  From the sounds of it, the most likely other culprit would be if you are running a Left-Hand Drive version of the game (cars travel on the left side of the road), and you have any Rails, Elevated Rail/GLR tracks, or Monorail tracks.  In that case, it'd be a missing RHW LHD Support file.

If that's not it, I would need to see some images of your city and the particular spot where this issue is occurring in order to help you further.

yeh i had the same problem with my RHWs. Eventually i reinstalled the NAM and when i did i chose the traffic simulator radical Z. After that i started sim city and saw my rhw 4 lanes clogged and congested.

There's a special way you have to do neighbor connections with Rural Highways due to a glitch that messes up freight truck travel. It's called a loop connection, and you should look in the readme that comes with the RHW mod for more info.
