ishamm...

You might read through this if you're familiar with using Reader. Otherwise, I know that if you use SFBT's GLR Tram Mod, it includes a file that prohibits the game's default trams from appearing and uses the custom trams (one or two cars...?) that come with the stations. Of course, that means you'll need to use those stations for trams to appear. Also, the VDK Tram Mod uses only one car. There very likely could be other tram mods that do the same thing. These are the ones I'm familiar with. Hope this is useful...

You can either limit the number of cars in a train, which will then apply for all networks, or you can use only one tram skin as a "locomotive". Or you can use Vester_DK's GLR Tram mod volume 3.0, which can be found on SC4D LEX. It uses very short cars to mimic articulated trams, therefore making the whole trains on GLR/el network considerably shorter (while the number of cars stays the same).

thanks for the answers. CaptCity i read your link about editing the NAM file with reader, sounds like a good idea. do you know if it would be possible to change it so that there is a max/min length for the 3 rail types? rather than having to limit frieght and passanger as well as glr?

My understanding is that it is one setting for all rail types. I'm not sure if it's possible to somehow add properties to split up the different types. That would be something to ask the NAM gurus. Though, I think if it was something possible and reasonable, it would have been done. Just a thought...

There is some mod that modifies the length of freight trains only, making them super-long, just like real freigth trains, and it doesn't affect other rail types.

So maybe it's possible for glr too.

I looked into the Automata Tuning exemplar and there are two separate settings for freight and passenger trains (which according to the tutorial means all three types, ie commute, El/GLR and monorail). So the best you can do is, after installing NAM is backup your current automata plugin first (it's named NetworkAddonMod_Automata_Plugin_????????.dat - copy it somewhere else) and edit it with the reader. The property names are quite self-explaiing, and you can also look at the description displayed at the right-bottom corner of the reader's window. And OF COURSE, make sure that the plugin you are editing is the one that actually takes effect! For example, if you install a mod like the one Wiecher mentioned above (it obviously contains a modded version of the Automata Tuning plugin), and it is loaded after the NAM, then any changes you make in the (NAM's) Automata Plugin won't have any effect, because it will be "overridden" by that mod.

As what CaptCity says, try the SFBT GLR Tram Mod or the VDK Tram Mod. Both mods give you trams that only have 1-2 cars and some stations. (Only for the SFBT mod) For the SFBT mod, be sure you have an account at the SC4Devotion LEX in order to see the download button.

I have this problem too, but all names of each properties are called as "Unknown", so I can't select what needed. Please, tell me ordinal number of property, which is needed here

You have to be sure that Reader is directed to the updated property file (included with the Reader download).
