Hi, sim_link. Schulmania bounced back this week... and so did HD.

Hi, PhatHead. Glad you're enjoying the show.

Hi, Fox. Great work last time.

    Hi, Mithrik. No problem!

Hi, SimCoug. Number two on both BTTs this week, well done.

Hi, packersfan. Sorry to hear that you aren't able to access the images easily.

Hi, LexusInfernus. Welcome to the Top Ten this week.

Hi, Schulmanator. Hope you and the cats had a good Christmas.

Hi, Mithrik. If people comment in your CJ during the week, that's often enough to get you on the chart even without an update.

    Ben's Top Ten

It's the last regular BTT for 2012, and my Trixie Orbs update pushed my CJ to number one. Maybe a normal update will see me at the top in 2013?

Queensferry and Shustrepistaz are back, and The Rise of Bostonia is new to the Top Ten.

Have a great New Year, everyone, and thanks for making BTT such a success in 2012 with your city journalling and support in this thread.

Stay up to date with early results: @benstopten. BTT follows you back!

Happy CJing, and I'll see you next time.

    Ben's Top Ten

It's time to start the 2012 Top One Hundred countdown. This year there were a few CJs tied at the bottom, so we have a +3.

We start with numbers 81-103. There are a couple of 2011 Trixie winners in there - Alien [|] Worlds and The Times of Troix. Enjoy!

Stay up to date with early results: @benstopten. BTT follows you back!

Very cool, hanging around number 2. And I see Windemere poked its way back into the +10. :) Also very excited to see the top 100 this year. I don't think I'll be too high since my time was devoted to 2 CJs, but hey. The suspense is fun. :) Also cool to see Windemere and Holt District images in the background this year... all 10 or so. :D

Nice work, Ben, look forward to watching the list unfold. :D

Either way I like it! Nice to see a list of some of the better CJs for me to explore in my free time!

Hi, packersfan. You'll just have to wait and see.

Hi, sim_link. Here's day 2 of the countdown.

Hi, Schulmanator. I keep track all year, as otherwise you'd be waiting for this until July!

Hi, nysc4. This is a weekly ranking of CJs based on unique (non-author) replies per author post. But right now we're in the middle of the year's top 100.

It's time to start the 2012 Top One Hundred countdown. This year there were a few CJs tied at the bottom, so we have a +3.

Today we add numbers 61-80 to the list. Former number one an Trixie '11 winner Sandalwood county is there at 68. Another Trixie winner, Carpathia III, shows up at 74, and Dreams, the final number one of 2011, is at 80.

It's our third update today, and there's one former number one - Cityquest. And well done to Simland - the highest CJ on the Top 100 that hasn't made it into the Top Ten yet - the best of the +10 CJs!

Some excellent CJs already on the list. Are there many journals still exclusive to this forum, rather than the City Journal area still?

There's plenty that are the opposite and we can see that many CJs not on that list, have made it quite high up on this one.

Hi, ThomasSimpson. It is always interesting to see what is popular on one list vs the other - they seem to have a different audience in many cases. Most of the time a CJ listed in both areas will do much better in one over the other, but there are exceptions. I haven't counted the number of CJs exclusive to the forum area - maybe I'll do that once the whole list is out.

Hi, sim_link. Yes, maybe I'll take a look at a comparison between the two.

Hi, jack3oh3. You'll have to wait and see if your prediction is correct. And good to see you around again!

Hi, TayMay27. Sounds like your CJing in 2012 was better than you realized!

    Ben's Top Ten

Happy New Year, everyone - may you have good health and good fortune in 2013.

Back to the countdown... we are looking at numbers 21-40 today. Franklin County was number one in 2010, and this is its third year on the BTT 100. Stone Creek (with its double Trixies) was a number one from 2011, as was Aydina. We have a big crop of number ones from 2012: The Nation of Cape Barren, Bournemouth (which started the year with a triple header), Umbuzeiro, Metasmurf's Roadtrips, The Royal State of Amsterdam, and The Calistan Protectorate. Another Trixie winner, Atlantsia, is on the chart today.

Stay up to date with early results: @benstopten. BTT follows you back!

Happy CJing, and I'll see you next time.
