Gritty. Nice!

thanks for all your nice comments

    Also Very nice ash

Bixel @ I do have a nether 2 version of it one at 1900 and the other at 700 or so for the different zoom levels, but I am finding it hard to crate depth on a flat surface as most houses in real life are not very detailed but they have a lot of depth to them (if you know what I mean). Something I cart s seem to get right with just textures alone. Any tips,

I am hunting the internet for pictures I can crop and chop to make new textures, I have fond the real estate web sites the best ones because they have the best variety of pics , I am gathering quite a collection, about 3 Gb or so, and I am trying to change the way I make the models but even when I look at those models on my fist post I am not satisfied. There just not detailed enough,

    It looks very blue collar.

looks pretty good, the roof is a little repetitive, but you can solve that by creating a texture specifically for it, using the one you have now, also the way to defeat the lack of depth is to use normal maps and some specular. Nvidia has released a free plugin for Adobe Photoshop that can create normal maps for you, just use the desired texture put it in photo shop, use the plugin and bam Normal Map made.

    I love coffee and buildings.

Hey Czar Aleksander, Mr Dazza did that building not me, just make sure you don't get us two mixed up.2.gif Obviously, he has a lot more experience at me, and his models look way better. My models though are a bit low poly, but would still look great in a game like CXL.

    @ Androv - Yeah!B)

@ Mr Dazza - Sorry if I have kind of stolen your thread. We should share it though. Also, it's your decision whether we could form an Aussie custom content team or not. I do general Australian buildings and some Brisbane landmarks (like my model of the Brisbane City Hall).

Hear is some apartments, this one as made from they same way the did in the video,
The poly count is at 1700 but I still need to make some roof textures,   every thing was made from the one texture so there was a truck of cropping. let me know what you think good and bad

Well I can point out the bad. One, a car and some tree branches is in the textures. Try to remove them by photoshopping. Remember, good textures are made, not found.

Umm.... I think you got the wrong idea, the first picture is the one he made for XL, the second one is a real life pic (to compare). Correct me if im wrong.

As for the model, I think you should just make the RL one, insteed of a slight variation, and there is something about the window texture thats not quite right, maybe its too repetative (can't quite describe it right).

Same here 4.gif Is there any tutorial/guideline for 3dsmax. I did see the video from MC... but this is not detailed enough for me to get started. From my earlier creations in SC4 I do have experience with 3dsmax, but I already noted building creaion for cities XL is very different. I especially need to learn some details on how to texture buildings and how to create the combined textures in photoshop...

     I can't wait to start.
