I was wondering how many people ready City Journals (CJ's) and where they read them I use the new CJ section format, so I hardly ever read the CJ forums.

What do you do, and why?

I think there may be a thread like this already, but I'll comment anyway.

I read CJ's mostly in the old section, with a few exceptions to certain CJ's in the new one. I also used the new one to catch up on some larger CJ's, and then went back to them in the old section.

Yes, this is kitty.

Well i prefer the old CJ section due to various reasons, its much easier to make one and easier to check out a CJ if there is a new update.

Mainly I read in the old section. Though, there are a few journals that I do follow that are in the new section.

    Interesting...

I like the new format because you can really see the new posts, page by page, without having to search through tons of comments. When all you want to see are the updates, going through those pages of comments can be difficult!

I read CJ's in both sections because there are great CJ's in both sections. But I have to say that I like the new CJ section the most.

I agree with Retep Molinari, if you're a frequent reader and you know what goes on the previous updates, you have to spend some time looking for the last update. In the new CJ section you simply go where you want. I also like the "Details" section on every CJ, it provides some information to catch up the reader.

i cant stand the new city journal section its hard to navigate and make new city journals

additionally the new city journal section is filled with more novice players with limited bats- or at east that is my opinion

the older one is soo much better but because of that stupid city journals button at the top of the page the old section isnt as visited and the true city journals are less read

I read the old CJ section because I like reading what other people think of the CJs. Plus I don't know how to subscribe to the new one.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Wow, I am surprised on how many people are against the new system. I find the new system alot easier to format my CJ. Are there people whom use both them?

I have actually stopped reading CJ's really, I liked the old one really but I started one in the new one and thought of it as very painless. I prefer to read the old one and create in the new one.

eres my two sense lol 3.gif

I got a CJ, Waterbridge, i'm not a hyperlink expert but search it and it should come up :)

One problem with the new format that I would like to see fixed is that one's CJ only floats to the top when you make a new entry, as opposed to the old system that bumped up a CJ with every comment.

The result? People in the new format are always writing BS posts with no content in them. It's not an insignificant problem: after working hours on a City, I'd like more than one shot every post to get some views.

    Anyone feel the same?

I agree with you Retep Molinari, My CJ only seems to idle along on around the top of the page for a little while. Like its own '1 hour to shine' sort of thing. However, I would like to think that my CJ is a little less dependent on viewers who are browsing, and more on followers who will check if my CJ has been updated, no matter where it is, so being at the top concerns me less.

The one thing I have against the old section is the style that updates are in the middle of pages, in a sea of comments. Other than that, I do use the old section to check on CJ's that I appreciate a lot, and the new section to help new CJ'ers.

    I like the new one.

It's a lot more easier to read the actual stuff, instead of Comments Clouding up the whole darn thing.

I'm easy to get confused, so the new way helps keep me on track. Haha.

I like the new CJs better for one reason is that the journal is moved to the top only when its author makes a new entry. I realize that the old one has a wealth of information that can be used to enhance my game, plus the ones that have been writing CJs longer and the longer active CJs are over in the old section.

I think that it'd be really great if there was a feature in the new CJ section would pull up some random CJs. I donno-- just something to bring ones that haven't been up[dates in a bit back to light. Otherwise they're just sorta lost forever.

I read the new section, for different reasons. The main two are:

1.) I have all 3 of my CJs there.

2.) I just got used to it.

Personally, though, I like the old one, and I may be considering moving my newest one (Avalon Republic) there.
