Hey, everybody, this thread was taking longer to load than In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly took to play.  2.gif  (Anybody remember that one?) So I'm starting a new one.  The old one can be found here.

Pink Floyd's Echoes synchronised with the ending of 2001: A Space Odessey. Clocking in at over 23 minutes, it is one of Floyd's longest songs.

Thanks for posting the vid. Now I don't have to rent 2001 every time I want to watch that sync.

Lola Live '80 - The Kinks

This may not have been as looooooooooooong as In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida from Iron Butterfly or Pink Floyd's 23 minute opus Echoes, but for this song, you could call it the extended version of this rock classic. It ran over six or seven minutes, but it was a very loud six or seven minutes.

Stretch. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is known just for being long, not for taking a long time to load.

...and what little humor there was you destroyed by then explaining the joke. In order to be funny, it has to be "gotten" without explanation. 49.gif

....I'm not listening to anything right at the moment besides that faint white noise that comes out of headphones when they're hooked up and on but no actual sound is playing. And the steady hum of my computer's cooling fan.

the kids today....

let me start over, that sounded real old.

I think the last  time In-A-Gadda-Da-vida  got any pub was on The Simpsons and i think that was season 1 or2.

You better be listening to the whole album start to finish. 44.gif

...and if the band you're in starts playing different tunes

I'll see you on the dark side of the moon...

Actually I'm gonna put it on right now.

I don't wanna die I'm a god why can't I live on

When the lifegiver dies all around is laid waste

and in my last hour I'm a slave to the power of death

slave to the poower of deeeath

slaaave to the pooower of deeeeeeaaaaaaaaattthhhhhhh!!!!!

Oh, and to the people who listen to artists like Led Zeppelin one song at a time as opposed to the whole album start to finish - I hate you.quote>

Okay, new thread, new habit. If I'm listening to a full album, I'm going to name the album in general rather than specifically naming the current song.... but inject a splash of lyrics from the approximate current point. The difference can also be told by album titles being Italicitzed.

The Protomen - Act II: The Father of Death

They say this city, she's been dead for years now

so death is not something that scares me

there's worse things than death here

they've told me... keep quiet

They Might Be Giants - John Henry

Third Eye Blind - Ursa Major

After halloween

everything starts fading

I'm losing everyone

I go down like the sun

You know what I mean

I'm just someone in a summer town...
