28 days = Goodbye

And as I walked away, I distinctly

remeber hearing you say

under your breath yeah he'll be back

but I didn't come back did I? did I?

respect is what you lack

respect is what you lack

Elevation - U2

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

-Steen Eiler Rasmussen, 1898-1990 (SimCity 2000 User Manual).

So that's more properly

Sugar Ray - Music for Cougars

And we'll dance like no one is ever watchin'

and we'll love each other to the early morning

and we'll be together, girl, through stormy weather

and we'll stay together

'cause there's no way in hell I'd ever let you go

Mike Oldfield - "Moonlight Shadow" - Complete Eighties

Is that better?

I love that song, and it's album, A Saucerful of Secrets. Actually, you'd be hard pressed to find any Floyd material I don't like.

System of a A Down - Steal This Album!

you see my pain is real

watch my world dissolve

and pretend that none of us see the fall

as I turned to sand

you took me by the hand

and declared that love prevails over all

Did anyone say dirty beats?

Welcome to Dubstep, the best thing to come out of the rave scene since MDMA and Psytrance.

L'Arc~en~Ciel - "Umibe" (jpn: "beach" or "seashore" or the like), from their album "KISS."

Here they are belting it out live for their Theater of Kiss concert:

Hyde of the Hair goes kinda rough and scratchy on those emotional notes, but then I guess that happens when you are anguishly crying over memories of your lost love frolicking amidst the waves on the warm beach last summer.  Waaah, sob sob!  When I try to croon like that to the showerhead, I just get the neighborhood dogs howling and so pretend they're backup singers:

Kimi wa ureshisou ni Aarrf Arrf

Arrroooooooumibe ni tokeai

Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti

And the wind is crying

from a love that won't grow cold

my lover she is mine

on the dark side of the globe

Just join hands

if we could just join hands....

The problem is, that song is prelude to awesome. It needs to be followed by "When I'm Dead" and "The Thing I Hate" or it doesn't work! 31.gif

Anyways...

Pet Shop Boys - Behaviour

Tell me baby, are you gonna get high as a kite

Tell me baby, are you gonna let it happen every night?

How can you expect to be taken seriously....

Agreed. But I had the iTunes on random and once the next song comes on... I'm already distracted. (I have a short attention span.) Plus I like to listen to "When I'm Dead" very loud... and my neighbors have kids so... even on a Friday night,  once it's past midnight, no go. (My headphones are in my roommate's truck.) (Which has been impounded.) Guess I can kiss those goodbye. 21.gif

Pink Houses John Cougar

There's a young man in a t-shirt

Listenin' to a rockin' rollin' station

He's got greasy hair, greasy smile

He says, "Lord this must be my destination."

'Cause they told me when I was younger

"Boy you're gonna be president."

But just like everything else those old crazy dreams

Just kinda came and went

Oh but ain't that America for you and me

Ain't that America somethin' to see baby

Ain't that America home of the free

Little pink houses for you and me

Was followed by one of my top 10 songs

Just love the bass line of this song

Owner Of A Lonely Heart  by YES

Move yourself

You always live your life

Never thinking of the future

Prove yourself

You are the move you make

Take your chances win or lose her

See yourself

You are the steps you take

You and you - and that's the only way

That whole Yes album was good stuff, one of the few bands to get away with a complete change in sound.

Reading the 'End of the Decade" thread made me chuckle, as I listen to a short-lived band from the 80s, The Firm. Jimmy Page, Paul Rogers... anyone?

The original movie version is one of the most depressing songs I have ever heard in my life.

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

I have both albums from the Firm.  Haven't listened to them in about 20 years, but I have them.  Oh, another famous member you forgot to mention was drummer Chris Slade who played for AC/DC, Manfred Man's Earth Band and Uriah Heep to name a few.  He even played drums for fellow Welshman Tom Jones starting in 1963.

As to what I'm listening to at the moment...

Do They Know It's X-Mas - Band Aid
