    Due to high demand of modern euro medium wealth w2w residental buildings, I here in Vlasky, Vlasky & Vlasky architects, started to work on project of new building.

    Acctualy the construction have started. Here are the pics from the construction site>

    Excellent work so far. It looks like you're going to have transclucent glass show the interior at night. I'm just geussing becuase of how it looks so far. Interesting concept. It's like your building a building the real way. Starting out with steel columns and such. I'm going to be keeping my eye on this thread. 2.gif Great job!

    It's coming out nicely. Nice windows. I think the wall texture(near the base) could use some work. The yellow top part needs some texturing work as well. Try adding some more contrast to it. Don't worry about a lack of replies. People read. Some are just to lazy to post a reply. My BAT Thread doesn't get alot of replies. 3.gif Yours gets more than mine. 2.gif

    Long time ago, when I released the Red Resident, there was a comment which made me think and bat some more. It was by guy (or girl) named gottago. He or she told me to redo Red Resident and make it w2w. I wanted to extend it but that would destroy my concept so I chose to build around it. That's how the Green Resident extended w2w came to life.

    Recently Amthaak asked me do I have something that need night lights and I remembered it. He did a tryout of night lilghts and here's a prewiew. Comment it so we can figure out what to do.

    And here's also update from construction site of the Stampo. There's been a slight slowdown because the investor is doubting the architecture's idea of pink glass on the balcons (there are even rumors of lawsut). but we managed to take this picture with original pink fence glass. Here it is:

    Hey Vlad: Super green is getting better all the time. Maybe some roof junks on the lateral terraces. The roof texture is maybe a little repetitive. I will suggest to make a  "personalized" texture . If you want I can help you!44.gif

    For the pink glass , well I am getting use to it. Same thing for the roof texture.

    BTW, you don't need hundreds of comment saying it's fantastic, because that's doesn't help to improve. however, I understand that we all need gratitude. But that's not the (only) objective of a Bat thread. If you don't know how to do it, or how to use photoshop or whatever you use, well... just ask, a lot of people want to help44.gif

    And nothing resists to the work.

    The new residential building (Stampo) is coming along nicely, I don't have anything particular to say about it at this point.

    The green building looks gorgeous, I love the shape! As Amthaak said, the roof texture could be improved, ideally it should be one piece for each roof instead of a tiling "endless" texture. Some more definition of the edges would help immensely, too.

    The night lights are beautiful, at a first glance I don't see anything I would change. Oh, wait - there's one odd spot. Up on the terrace with the chairs & tables, that yellow light on the floor seems to come from nowhere. If it was supposed to be an exterior light, then the wall should be illuminated as well, shouldn't it? Or maybe it's a light leak?

    One thing I'd change is the day window texture; that applies to both BATs. I think something a bit more varied would look more convincing.

    T Wrecks: For the yellow light coming from no where, it's of course completly right, I have to modify the nite textute in order to have "these windows" lighted; BTW I ask you something in my Bt thread , and i am waiting for your (expert) answer (dependncies issue...see what I mean2.gif!).

    Hi Vlasky,

    I just found your BAT thread and am glad you took my suggestion to heart and are doing a new version of your Red resident! It's a style of building I love and there's so little bar-shaped w2w low-rise out there like that, especially commercial stuff; the emphasis in SC4 has always been vertical when in RL it's usually horizontal, more often sprawl 2.gif

    Re: the BAT itself, it looks great and Amthaak's nitelites are excellent. The small glass addition coming off the corner is perfect, but the addition to the main block looks off, it doesn't gel with the Red and looks tacked on. I'd either make it appear  it's an addition by adding a transverse wall on the roof to suggest it was built later and texture the roof differently, or just move it over and add it to the other glass wing and make it a 3x3 (or 4x4?) square w2w corner lot and leave the end wall of the Red a blank concrete slab. You'll have to edit the LOD to get an L, but then you can do something interesting in the courtyard you'll have created in LE after. Some more roofjunk on the bare spots and you've got a really interesting little complex going there.

    That green resident is pretty awesome. Love the nighttime look.

    As for the latest, i would suggest changing the second floor. I think the plain glass wall is a bit boring and out of style with the rest of the building

    Amthaak - I'm not familiar with photoshop and, I remember you explained me, but it sounds so complicated. I'll give my best. There will be roof junk, and plenty of it - there's a reason why it's name is GREEN. Textures are not final for these BATs, the progrss will be published. I don't need a lot of comments saying it's fantastic, but I also don't need comments when I upload file saying coluda, woulda, shoulda. My point is - say it now when I can repair it.

    @ T Wrecks - Thanks. I get what you mean when you say differnet pieces, but I don't know what you think when you say more definition of the edges, also what would you do to make window textures varied? Explanation would be great.

    @ gottago - Welcome and thanks for stopping by. You see, I don't insist on comments for nothing. All you people have great ideas, and sharing them with me makes BATs I do more interesting. Credits for Red Resident revival goes to you. I like that you understood my idea of add ons, it's idea from RL. And I even like that you don't like one part, 'cause in RL add ons, in a sense, destroy original appeal of buildin. And you will be known from now on like  HE 9.gif

    @ Kryptowhite - the part you dislike is acctualy two floors. I'll see what I can do to imrove it.

    Let's start with the roof: what I meant with "more definition around the edges" is that you make all contours of rooftop structures more prominent by darkening the roof around them. For example, make the roof slightly darker around its edges, but also around anything that sits on the roof, e.g. HVACs oder tech rooms. A good recent example is actually Amthaak's hotel. You can see how the rooftop is not a uniform grey, but darker around the edges.

    As for the windows, I meant that it looks better when not all windows share the same uniform colour, but look slightly different instead. This picture (taken from Aaron Graham's BAT thread) illustrates the effect quite nicely. I guess you can achieve this either by applying an individual texture to each window (sounds like much work, though), or by making the window glass for the wall one single plane and giving it a texture with some colour variation on it. Actually, Jasoncw or nofunk should be able to give you better pointers than I can because unlike me,  they BAT themselves, and they really make great window textures IMHO.
