i can't remember where I put the wtc gmax file. if you really think I should change the base than i'll think of something. if you have the lot editor you can change the lot size, i don't think the building takes up all the space of the lot.
He is the list of buildings:
The Guggenhiem will be a project that i will make gradually and release other buildings in between (like Lord Q and the Financial Center)
    Campo Volantin Footbridge in Bilbao
    Stadelhofen Station in Zurich
Opera House in Tenerife or the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia

^about that. i tried it. and Lot Editor wouldn't open it. it gave me the ol' contains textures not viewable in LE bla bla. so unless i can change that fact, i can't change it on my own 23.gif

did you download the updated lot editor? if you haven't it is probably because the lot is a transportation lot and you can't open it with the old lot editor.

what you could do is go into the sc4 plug-in manager and make the WTC Hub a prop instead of a building. Then go into the lot editor and open the WTC lot and change the building back to the old subway station building using the replace building button. Then use the prop and place that over the subway building to cover it up. you can change the lot size and have props outside the border. you should be able to save it that way.
    hope this makes sense

    Three things:

    One, I love your buildings!

Two, the WTC transfer center is slanted as you know, but can I fix it?

Three, your train station. The last few platforms cover the train tracks, can you fix this? Could you also transit enable the roads?

If you don't want to try this, please don't. I'll sit here and wait for the museum!

    thanks, i appreciate it.
the train station, the first and last rail textures are actually how it is in reality, there is only one track not two. I would have to rescale everything and export again which will take a while, sorry. The middle tracks aren't covered, they are just close to the platforms.
since most people don't like the slanted part, i will change it now, export the building during school tomorrow and upload it, you can't fix it because it was intentionally made in gmax.
And the roads cannot be enabled because it wouldn't work properly. The entrance of the building is actually beneath the surface and the road textures just stop, but it looks like it keeps going in a tunnel; the road also doesn't come out the other side since one of my props didn't render well.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think you could fix it without rerendering it.

Is anyone interested in the Yokohoma Landmark Tower, it is the largest building in Japan at a hight of 296 m. I feel like making a skyscraper that has a different look with a lot of detail; if not, i'll continue with my lowrise buildings.

Keep it up, I'm very impressed by your work, and your alternative choices for what buildings to remake.

If you want a building with a lot of detail, i could give you a suggestion....9.gif 30 wall street in NYC. world's tallest for about a week.

..But that Landmark Tower would be cool too, i like how it retains it's width to the top without getting slender, yet not being a box.

Landmark tower would be awesome. I was looking into it a few days ago but decided against doing it for now. But i think that it would be a great building to have in the game.

This is only the beginning. The angle of the building is off by about 2 degrees, but it looks like it is off by more in the picture. I still have a lot to do, and i think i have to change the window textures, every one of them because the instance doesn't seem to work right.

The Yokohama Landmark Tower is already looking great! Can't wait until it's finished! BTW DuskTrooper I believe there was a building quite similar to this one called Pan Pacific Insurance in SC3K.

The rendering is too small to show, so I took a picture from gmax.

Someone will probably have to render this for me. I tried this on draft without night lighting.
My computer is 1.8 GHz, 640 MB of RAM, geforce 4, still have 5.1 GB left on my hard drive.
can anyone help me with this?

Just close that. It will take care of itself. It happens when I play SC4. You probably had too many programs using tha RAM.

i'll keep that in mind, but what about the MAXScript Rollout Handler --Unknown system exception should i worry about that?

edit: I also need pictures (haven't found good ones) of the Dockyard Gardens at the base of Landmark Tower and pictures (i can't find any) of the roof/top of landmark tower.

tried to export on draft again. recieved a new message:
    MAXScript
text too long, edit window out of space

then after i waited for a while to see if it would continue, it didn't, i closed the BAT and another message came up saying there was something wrong with 0x6534284a
i know it isn't something wrong with gmax because i exported another building fine. i can't seem to figure out what the problem is specifically.

thank you, i really appreciate it. i have enough pictures to start on the dockard garden now.

here is the basic shape of the building with a small rendering. If I could export it, I could show you the amount of detail.

    /idealbb/files/test19.jpg

I still can't find any aerials of the building or of Yokohama to model the roof. all the aerials of the city are from the sky garden in the tower. I might just have to make the roof the same as the Pan-Pacific Insurance building from SC3000 Unlimited.

i started a building a while ago and have changed a lot of it recently since i know more about gmax, but now i can not open it File Open Failed. does this mean that it is corrupt and i can never open it again?

me again, with more problems. the WTC lot is fine now, i've reduced its size, but now it won't demolish. or burn. or anything. it's just...there. and the thing is, it isn't working or doing anything useful either anymore. just taking up space. is this permanent, or is there a way to get rid of it?
