I just hit myself in the eye with the sleeve of my 100% cotton shirt, thus drying up my eye and leaving me in pain. I recovered from it - partially - only seconds ago, though I may need to see a doctor.

Just kidding! 3.gif I had absolutely no idea what that was about. All I really have to say is that I'm about to E-mail a girl I once knew who moved away and lives in the Santa Cruz mountains. And I haven't been in contact with her for... Oh, about four years. So... Yeah. :S

Well we can't really talk about anything, can we?

Instead of complaining, give us a subject.

lol, I hope y'all don't stay away from chat too long. Its fun in there.

Don't be so serious in chat, I guess. Like, every other day a guy comes in asking how to hack the game, right? But we know its gonna happen, so just take it easy. Instead of getting in his face about warez or whatnot, we can just say we don't know how to do it, and he will give it up.

Of course, I have a different perspective than y'all, being a man livin' in the world of work.

Boggy1: lol, now you know how I feel every time I'm interested in a woman. (not to sound disparaging.) I just don't ask women out anymore, I'm tired of hearing about boyfriends and how wonderful they are. Its like, "Why couldn't you have told me -before- I asked you out?" or, the other thing I'd like to say, "Don't flirt with me like that if you aren't actually interested!" Geez. People have no manners nowadays.

I suppose it is different, in that I'm not asking a woman who has a girlfreind, but I honestly don't see the difference; unavailable is still unavailable. And what's with the leading people on thing?

Anyway, chin up, y'all. We need to do useful and constructive things with our lives, not moan about our trials and struggles. Huzzah!

it's so difficult for fledgeling city journals out there. the standard is just so high and little guys who just wan to tell a story get totally ignored in favour of cintillating newbies with amazing regions, it's a shame because it puts me right off, i've given up my first attempt. lack of interest i never found it on the first page, i just can't compete with genesus and anduin valley revisited, i have to regardless of whether im trying too....

Click Me

Yay!  Go gay Austinites (and supporters). 44.gif

Also, the city of Austin is likely to pass Proposition 6.

Proposition 6 would repeal part of the city charter that refuses to extend health insurance coverage to same-sex partners of employees - a 12-year-old decision.quote>

Score one for the homosexuals.  Just thought I'd share the good news.  39.gif

None taken.

But you must realize Austin (and Travis County) is really an oasis in the Texas desert.  Travis County overwhelmingly opposed last year's Proposition 2 while the majority of the rest of the state approved it.  Prop 2 banned gay marriage...although it was already banned.  They just banned it again I guess.  I dunno.  I never understand what's going on in those crazy neo-conservative's minds.  But Austin doesn't tolerate stuff like that. 28.gif

Interestingly enough, Austin is considered one of the best cities to live in. (In the US)  I wonder if that has anything to do with the liberal social climate of the area. 19.gif

Well, you really can't be both gay and conservative.... Part of conservative ideology rejects homosexuality. According to what every politicialn says about it, it's the whole "family values" thiing and "gays pollute our chidren's minds" and all that. Of course, those are just bullspit reasons that they come up with because they sound much more acceptable than the real reason: "God said so".

Another thing that's really stunning is how many people don't see this as today's version of women's rights/civil rights. I remember that once in conversation, the whole "gay rights" issue came up. I was pretty much the only only one present that beleived gays should have all the same rights as straights. I got fed up with it real fast. And then I sarcastically said "You know what? You're all absolutely right. {stick bundles} shouldn't be alowed to get married, {you-know-whats} should have to ride on the back of the bus, and {female dogs} belong in the kitchen. After all, everyone knows straight white protestant men are the superiour race in this world, right?"

The entire room was dead silent for a full 30 seconds, everyone gaping at me as if I had three heads. The first person to speak up was some bratty girl whose name I forget. Basically, what she said was aong the lines of "You jackass, how dare you make such a comparison! All of those issues are completely unrelated!" And that's the best part. What offended her? Was it the use of derogatory terms? The sarcastic statement of racist and sexist ideas? No, It was the fact that I compared them to gay rights. I really felt like giving her a good smack upside the head. But no matter how much she deserved it, I would've gotten in trouble if I did, so I isntead just got up, said "You know what? {fornicate} you all!  You're nothing but a bunch of prejudiced bastards yourselves!", and stormed off in a huff. It was the last time I ever talked to any of the people that were present.

Stupidity- there truly are no limits to it.28.gif

Well, I guess if you can't get them to realize their error...you can always tell them to fornicate. 3.gif

Although I hope only their good genes get passed down.
