Daeley ignore him/her, some people must learn that if you don't like something, don't use it and let the others use it, especially if you don't have something better to propose 2.gif . I like the new N.A.M., especially the "A" Easy traffic simulator that solved my traffic problems. As about CAN.A.M., i use the Oppie's canals and the result is a bit... odd 18.gif

For once again, great job N.A.M. team 29.gif29.gif44.gif

again....

take a minute to read the posts....your answer is in the first post.

Under the CAN-AM heading:

"Since the NAM doesn't contain any lots, the ferry terminals for the canal puzzle pieces will be released separately by the BSC. The release will be very soon, but at the moment, only lots for SimGoober's canals have been made. So for the time being, select "SimGoober's canals", if you want to use the CAN-AM."

this is only phase 1 of the canal stuff......more types may be added later.

Why must I select to have canals? can I get rid of them in my plugin folder?

I like the canals, I just like my streams and rivers.

Maybe elvated over Avenue.quote>

The NAM never contains stations.  However, the RTMT Team is in the final stages of development of an El over Road station that has variations for crossing a road, an avenue, and a GLR-in-Avenue.  Sounds like just what you want.  Watch the RTMT threads here for an announcement of its release.

I would strongly recommend Simulator Z.  It's the newest traffic simulator, it builds on the strengths of the previous traffic simulators, and it is the only traffic simulator that is continuing to be developed at this point.  It has a few new features introduced in the current NAM.

This is a bug in the NAM installer, which the NAM Team is working on fixing.  In the mean time, yes, you can just delete the canals from your plugins folder.

Yeah, sorry about that installer bug, the Nullsoft installer was giving me a hard time for some reason. There was a point when selecting the CAN-AM disabled the NAM core files. 2.gif Not sure what went wrong, but the script looks alright. Also, I don't know what happend to the lock/unlock button, maybe a STEX moderator can have a look at this?

Not sure where that rumor came from, it's a new one to me.  The reason that you can only have one canal set is that we would have to create a seperate puzzle piece for each different water type which would make the set very unweildy, and we are sure to miss out someones.  SG and Cal's are the most obvious set choices as CityNut has used both textures for his sets, and I have used Cal's for mine.  Oppies would be another worth adding in as it's very widely used and something to look at for the future.

I'm affraid that I'm the creator of this rumor. I just said that i use the Oppie's canals and i'm looking forward for puzzle pieces, ferry and freight stations suitable to Oppie's canals. I'm terrible sorry about that 15.gif

I just have one quick question,

Do I need to uninstall the old NAM before I download the new one?

And then do I need to remove all of the NAM pieces from my cities before I uninstall it?

Ok, so maybe that was two questions but...

Thanks for the help

"Do I need to uninstall the old NAM before I download the new one? "

Yes

"And then do I need to remove all of the NAM pieces from my cities before I uninstall it?"

No, just uninstall the old N.A.M. and install the new N.A.M.

Always great to have another NAM, especially with cool new features like the CAN-AM. Great Job!

However, after several iterations, I have forgotten or am slowly getting confused after so many years on how the various custom bridges are installed to work with the each new NAM. I am no longer sure how to properly install such wonders as the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, Garabit Bridge, or Jeronji's Warzone Bridge, to the point that in the previous NAM version I just didn't even try. Do we still replace Bridge Controllers, or put certain .dat files in in the "Additional Bridges" folder, or both? Is there a special or better order? Afterall, some bridges will have more recent or complete updates for Bridge Controllers than others, and I just no longer remember which is the latest custom bridge or the steps by which this is done for each custom bridge.

Odainsaker, to answer your question, much like we've been doing with the RUL Files, we've been maintaining a standard Bridge Controller file with the NAM since the June 2007 release, which supports all available bridges.  You should be able to just install the bridges, and have them instantly work with the June 2009 NAM.

The only ones you might run into issues with are the ones fukuda uploaded here to the STEX back in 2006-early 2007.  They were released before the standardized Bridge Controller, and they have their own Bridge Controllers included that will conflict with the NAM Bridge Controller, preventing newer bridges from working.  There are updated versions of his bridges on the LEX, however, that don't have the outdated Bridge Controller files included, so they should be fully compatible out of the box.

Hope that helps!

My CAN-AM and FLUP's do not work, the cursor is read over the terrain color and NEVER turns green and canal lots aren't included even though I checked the box in the installer.

Philadelphia...

Did you have a previous version of NAM installed, and if so, did you remove all old NAM files and/or run the Cleanitol file? A red cursor often means conflicting obsolete files are in the plugins folder.

The canal lots are not included in the NAM installer. They are available at SC4 Devotion LEX.
