Will the Game Work on my Laptop and Dekstop?

I was wondering if the game would work at all on my laptop which has 2gb of RAM and a 128MB Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS (Running Windows Vista). Or if it would work on my desktop that has an ATI Radeon x600 256MB video card.

The reason why I'm asking this is because I know that games always say their minimum requirements are this and that but yet lesser components work fine.

Same question here: I meet all but one of their minimal requirements: I have a Intel Core2Duo Processor instead of the Centrino2. And what does "2.5Go Vista" mean?

The Centrino 2 (aka "Montevina")is a chipset, not a particular CPU.  A quick wiki search shows that the Centrino 2 platform consists of an Intel Core 2 Duo processor plus other wireless technologies and RAM specifications.  The "2.5 Go" most likely refers to the RAM needed when using Vista as your OS.  It probably means 2.5 GIGABYTES of RAM, which is a lot...but memory is pretty cheap nowadays.  I hope they can trim it down a bit after the beta.

Both of your Computers could run CitiesXL. As you can imagine, it'll start to get sluggish when you reach the 75k-100k mark, but it should run alright on low settings till about 500k, then you might find it better to switch to very low.

I'm getting a new PC for this definitely, the game looks absolutely stunning on highest settings. My current specs are -

Windows XP

Intel Core 2 @ 1.87ghz

3.7GB Ram

XFX 9500GT 256MB

I'm currently running it on very low settings with a City of 800K and its not exactly super quick.

Beta works beautifully on high graphic settings on my laptop. Toshiba intel core 2 duo 2.10, 2 gig RAM, ati radeon 3000 series.

So when you say "low" and "very low" settings, does this mean changing their priority in Task Manager? (And will that have adverse effects on my game/PC in general?)

That is just out right false. An identically spec'd laptop and desktop will run a program identically. The difference is we generally build our gaming desktops much better than your average business laptop. Get a gaming laptop and things will run just fine.

Nah, unless you want to run it on low settings.

I have an 8500GT, Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz and 4GBs of RAM.

Runs horrible on medium settings.

It works actually pretty well on my laptop, runs the game fine on low. Although I haven't tried the game on my desktop, I know it will work fine. I'm also building a new desktop here soon that can keep up with today's games.

I installed the beta on my father's computer (2.6 GHz AMD x2, 2GB of RAM, and Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT 256MB) and it worked great on high settings.

based on what I have seen, the nvidia 6600 or ATI X1600 is DEFINITELY the minimum for this game...

it will not run on my laptop (I tried):

Celeron 2.16GHz (single core), 2GB RAM, Intel 4500M video

but it runs fast as can be on my desktop:

Intel E6600 2.4GHz (dual core), 4GB DDR2, nvidia 9800GT 512MB
