Can't find the CD

Hey.

I'll go right to the problem!

Everytime I've installed SC and RH, my computer says that it can't find the right cd, and that I should insert the right one... :s I have the right cd though. RH also says that the game isn't convertible with my version of Windows (Vista x64), but I know that a lot of you plays it without any problems at all.

Is there any way to make the game running, or should I just abandon my attempt to get it work?

IMO, if you're a big-time SimCity 4 player then you should stick with Windows XP. I haven't run into any problems with the cor egame or any installed plugins.

Don't listen to them, it is compatible. That has been disused before and it's been proven false. It is probably something else.

I have Vista x64 and it works perfectly...

I had to disable my screen saver though otherwise the install wouldnt complete :S

EDIT: I remember with Stalker that I needed to browse to the .exe on the CD itself in windows explorer to get it to load, as just double clicking the shortcut on the desktop came up with the same error your getting with SC4, so you could try that and see if it works...

I have Vista x64, everything runs fine. I didn't have to do anything differently than with XP.

I have Windows Vista, and I play SC4D+RH without any problems. Just to check, you should have two discs mine are a red one and a yellow one. I had to start the installation with the red one then change to the yellow one when told. I need the yellow disc everytime I start the SC4.

Do you have the original deluxe version that came with two discs? For some reason EA messed up when they did thoose. The autoplay stuff is on disc 1, but you need disc two to play. Which means that you will have  to put in disc two and start sim city via the programs menu.

I had wondered why you needed disc 2 to play when virtually every other game is just the opposite.
