Duke! Welcome!

*welcome glomp* 3.gif

I've got jackets with big poofy collars over here! And tight pants and a little guyliner! And I'm sure they are some cool shoes laying around. So come on over!

While I may not be the best person to talk to, you know I'm always here when you want to chat. 19.gif

Yes, this is kitty.

This is insane; I swear that all of the regular chatters are either gay or bisexual. What is it that attracts un-straight people to this website and game!

Boggy1: I bet it has something to do with all the outness in chat, we fell more comfortable with other gays, so more of us are willing to come out in an environment we see as safe. 3.gif

Welcome to Le Closet Gai Duke, feel free to try on as many shoes as you like 9.gif

but yes, there do seem to be a lot of us queens in chat

OK, on the topic of there being two Dukes in the closet...

I move that Duke87 be referred to as "Duke" and Duke of York be referred to as "Dookie".

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I don't usually comment in here, but out of necessity, I felt it important to note that neither beige NOR cargo pants should be worn. Ever. By men.

Wow..... surprising I've never stuck my head in here.

Anyways..... I've been out of the proverbial closet for.... god.... years now. Been with my bf for 4 years. Still not out to all the family (I like getting nice present for Christmas darn it!)

Back on subject though, I agree with Ded. Cargo pants are just.... no. And the whole beige thing... only on a need to wear out of necessity basis.

Well you guys are just gonna have to take me shopping if you want me to stop wearing them. Next thing I know I'll hear you all don't like a crisp pair of Adidas Sambas.

Glad you're feeling things out, DOY. I must say I'm astonished that you don't want to be called dookie. 4.gif

    *clears throat*

Might as well poke in here. As all chat regulars should know I am most definitely gay (well, bi because im not going to exclude anybody, i just havent found a girl im attracted to yet), but I'm only out here on ST. No one knows in real life yet, though I'm working on it.

Now someone clear out some shoes so I can bring in all my pants and shirts... it smells like dirty feet anyway.

Good to know. Although I think I may have said the exact same words on the previous page... now that I think about it. Yet another example of my short memory.

Denim you say? I haven't owned a pair of blue jeans since 1996. They just always kind of irked me. They look fine on everyone else but they have never been a favorite of mine.

The problem is functional. Denim is a fairly brittle fabric, and the way jeans are stitched together (especially with all those pockets) creates a lot of high stress points. The result? Jeans have an annoying tendency to develop holes at those points: on the front of the knees, around the edges of pockets, and at the junction of the inseams. And once they've got a hole, that's it, they're done, throw 'em out.

I tend to find it unrealistic to expect that a pair of jeans will last more than a couple years without developing a hole somewhere. Khaki, Camo, etc. have the same flaw, just not as severe.

The type of long pants that actually seem to last the best? Sweat pants.

And it's not hard to figure why. They're stretchy and flexible, so the material inherently doesn't tear as easily. They have fewer pockets, so they don't have as many vulnerable points. And because they're looser and baggier, they have a lot more tolerance to be moved around in and aren't put under as much stress in normal day-to-day use.

They are, however, poorly suited to doing physical work in (especially in the summer).

I prefer dark blue, grey or black denim.

They suit me better than light colours. Oh, and generally... if you want your denim to last longer than two years, look after them. 3.gif

I've never had any problems with holes in the knee area, etc etc, but I have had problems in the past with the bottom hem of some of my jeans getting caught under the bottom of my sneakers, so it rips.

Sweat pants: I don't like them - they don't suit people and they don't suit me. Plus, they have a habit of falling down whenever you put stuff in the pockets.

Pff. Whatever. I like cargo pants because they have room for my camera things so I'm going to wear them and I don't care if you don't like them. SO THERE. Pfft.

    A) Don't overload the pockets

    B) Wear a shirt long enough to cover a little droopiness

And that makes me look even more stupid... though I never wear sweat pants out and about anyway.

What, you don't like looking like a lazy bum? 3.gif

I prefer dark denim (black, dark blue, grey), but I might, just to be random, wear something crazy like neon.

And I do wear sweatpants out and about when I'm too lazy to change.

Sweatpants are good to wear when you want people to ignore you in public. They will be all "Oh, that gentleman is wearing sweatpants. We mustn't disturb him."

If you are wearing sweatpants and they fall down when you put stiff in the pockets, that means you have no ass. 2.gif

If just your wallet makes your pants droop, they're too big for you.

Well, that, or you have an extraordinarily heavy wallet.
