I sure wouldn't mind traveling through Loretto Valley! Such a nice area to drive through. Nice to see you're using the FAR pieces of NAM 9.gif

Keep up the good job!

Nice drive, I like that you still have some rural areas despite Loretto Valley appearing more dense. How far is Silvana from Harahan? I'd be curious to see a region map plotting the various cities/highways.

Is the office building in Silvana. Because that last picture seems a little high-density for a town of 25,000.

That looks like a nice drive, nice scenery and plenty of trees. I love the communities along the way, especially the hamlet of Higginston. I like your use of farmland, and how all the cities/towns are surrounded by fields. Everything looks great!

I guess I missed this one when it first came out. Things are looking really, really nice! I love how you edit your photos, and you explain everything in the picture so thoroughly. So many CJ's and MD's miss that crucial detail: Background information! My one suggestion is to get a slope mod. It will improve your roads a lot so that they aren't so jerky going up slopes. It really doesn't affect game play at all, and it makes your city MUCH more aesthetically pleasing.

Great work!

Hello, Zezug. Glad to see you back. I'm so sneaky about starting up new CJs, aren't I? Glad you like the rural areas, and I hope you come back for more.

Welcome back, CG. Glad you like the weekend drive. ABout the naming of Silvana, what I most likely did was open the atlas to Washington, and see Silvana on the map, think it's a cool name, and name the town after that. Cool coincidence that it's where you live!

Hey, Benedict. Glad you stopped by, and that blue rock building is great, isn't it? Thanks for the nice comments and I hope you stay tuned for more!

Welcome, phoenix7. Man, I should have advertised more or something? Glad you think this is an improvement. I will probably download some more houses soon, they do get repetitive even though I am happy with them.

Hi, danielcote. Glad you like it and just look below for more!

Welcome, jimbo_jj. You're right about that apple farm, lol! Glad you like it and make sure to stop by again!

Hello, jacqulina. Thanks for the kind comments and I hope to see you back here in the near future.

Hi, chrissc94. It's good to hear that you like the outskirts, make sure you stop by again!

Thanks for stopping by, De Ja Vu. I wouldn't mind traveling through there either! Thanks for the kind comments and I hope to see you back again.

Howdy, Dan. Most of Loretto Valley is rural, and there is basically one of each size city (Harahan-300k, an unrevealed city-100k-ish, Silvana, 25k, and a few 10k towns, small Skagit County-like towns, and villages.) Silvana is farely far from Harahan-they are still within trading distance, and often do that. To give you some sort of reference, Bleier Point was the upper-leftmost point on the region, and all the cities in the weekend drive are connected. Harahan is on the southernmost and centermost tile. Phew. Long reply, glad you stopped by!

Welcome, Schulmanator. Better be ready to get in your car for next week's drive! 4.gif

Hello, N106. Yes, the office building is in Silvana. All the buildings in there are grown except a few demolished and relocated thanks to the Building Plop (just so it didn't appear redundant)

Thanks for stopping by, Hawkeye9. Alan will get tired of it eventually, but right now he's lovin' it! Thanks for the kind comments and I hope to see you back!

Hi, selles. Glad you like the scenery and Higginston. I am addicted to those trees I put in there. Glad you like the aesthetics!

Welcome, jrhnemo. I'm glad you like the background info and graphics. You couldn't be more right about the lack of detail in CJ's, and I'm glad you think I'm doing a good job of that. About the slope mod, I downloaded one after some procrastinating. Thanks for the suggestion, stop by again!

Welcome GreekMan! Glad you like my neck of the woods. Just look below for some more updating.

Phew! Another long list of replies, keep 'em up.

Now, are you guys excited for the....

    First Edition of the.....

    Midweek Chronicles

    Episode 1: Welcome to "Harahell"

Sometimes, when a city is planned, they plan it around a town square.

Inside the town square, the builders put something important in it, like a marketplace or a statue.

Sometimes it is an important part of the town that will tell you what it's like-for example-a city hall, or a building that needs the people inside to mobilize out through the city fast.

The latter is true for this part of Harahan, all roads lead to this town square. It tells you what to expect when you visit here. You know what all the roads in East Harahan lead to?

    The police station.

    centerpolice.jpg

Tells you a lot about the district, doesn't it?

Circled is the residence of Pedro Santiago, within a safe range of the station. Or so he thinks. Pedro is a drug purchaser in the small apartment circled. He keeps to himself a lot, and works in a factory near the coast, providing a small, but steady income.

This is the residence of Juan. Juan lives in an even worse district of Harahan, commonly called 'Harahell.'

    juansresidence.jpg

Juan is only called Juan. No one is to know his last name, and in fact the only two living people who know is last name is his mother, and Juan himself. Because of Juan's proximity from the police station, his drug business is thriving. One day, he sold his wares to Pedro. He expected his payment two days later, on Pedro's Friday payday. At sunset on that Friday, Juan arrived at Pedro's door. Pedro had enough money, but refused to pay him. Juan was without any weapons, and what kept him from mauling Pedro anyway was the fact that he remembered the full box of matches in his car.

I certainly wouldn't like to live in Harahell! It's nice seeing the variety of cityscapes you're creating. I love the story too, I wonder what's going to happen to Pedro...

Hi, selles. I wouldn't like to live there either! Glad you like the story!

Welcome, s_olah. I'm glad that this made your day.

Hey, CG. Uh oh is right.

Welcome back, Hawkeye9. You might me onto something....Glad you like it and I look forward to seeing you back!

Thanks for stopping by, GreekMan. Yeah, the cops are pretty bad. With all those cars, they should patrol more, it might prevent a future disaster....

Hi, Schulmanator. You're completely right-when I drive through, I feel like I need burglar bars on my windshield.

Welcome back, N106. Thanks for the compliments, glad you think it's realistic.

Hello, SC4Poser-moser. I've tried to make lots of different cityscapes, and I'm glad it appears to be working. Stop by again!

Welcome back, Benedict. Glad you like the concept and of Harahell.

    ***Weekend Drive Cancelled***

Sorry guys, what contributed to this was that I had a really busy weekend. I had my first baseball game of my season, and then went all the way down to see the Rays in Port Charlotte-a two-hour drive there, plus the 3 hour game, plus getting there before the gates opened=being gone for 10 hours. The Interstate was so boring! There was nothing to inspire my city-building off of either- just trees, power lines, and more trees.

So what I'm planning on doing is making the Midweek Chronicles update set for next Wednesday, and doing a city profile instead of doing a Weekend Drive through it, which should be either tomorrow or Tuesday.

I really like downtown St. Leo. It's a nice mix of buildings in downtown, and they're not too tall. It's a shame they built those ugly stores in such a beautiful natural area. I guess it's true, money makes the world go round......

St. Leo looks like a nice suburb. Even better is how bad East Harahan, I mean 'Harahell', looks. You did a great job of capturing and creating a slummy looking area.
