thats ok. we now have replaced our 7th member discreet, who will be leaving simtropolis soon. Also, i want 1-2 more members so that we always have like five active critics.

hey right now im having trouble editing stuff, and sending pms, but heres whats going on. Im going to take 2 more critics, because we have one on vaca who should come back late december, one middle december, and one who will be leaving simtropolis for some time. This leaves us with only3-4 active critics. I will be contacting people who have shown interest in the past and will also allow people to contact me!

    Crystal City
    by Football_Fever

    studenthousingwm2.jpg

Welcome to crystal city, by football fever. The first journal by the one year member. The Journal has attractive banners and stuff, drawing the reader in.(sorry if this review sucks, im listening to music and about fifty times ive accidently typed white and nerdy). Anyway, the journal starts off good for a first timer, with some solid story making, and a load of destruction. Footballs first city, which lasts for about 2 seconds so it doesnt matter, is very rough. the streets are griddy, the buildings blackened, and other negitives. However you will see he really improves during the journal. He has a good selection of custom content to use, which he uses well. Fever does a good job of capturing quick things, like destroying buildings and explosions. The roads are a bit like a rollar coaster, going up and down away from the buildings foundations. Fever writes a really good drama/thriller though, digging deep into his playbook and coming out with some good writing tricks(sry i have to take the chance to talk football, not many fans on simtrop). The story is well written, keeps the reader in when the pics are lagging, and adds to the greatness when the pics are topnotch.

    whoshousenn3.jpg

the line," and i am running from the ones who destroyed everything i ever knew" is a good example of the excellent cliff hangers and storys fever has in crystal city. One thing that doesnt look nice is that the same stex thing is plopped dozens of times, taking the wonder of a unique building away. Using paint, Fever continues to do a great story and add destruction to fit in. Going back into a simtropolis favorite area, fever adds some space travel and scifi, where the story rocks again. With battles, good story, and snow! the sci fi updates are a very good example of Sci Fi jorunalism. On the negitive side, the grid is left on, which stood out in the snow pics. Thankfully, as i said, Fever learns from his mistakes and takes it off, suddenly making the snow pics All-pro and 3/4ths.(inside phrase, you guyz shouldnt know what it means). He does some great photoshopping, taking his spaceships and putting them in a snowy place, combining two diff pics. He moves on back to earth( ithink) where we see some great pics, including a fabulous tropical city, a custom airport, and some great water. The story once again is a thriller, keeping you in at all times.

The next updates are unique. Theres everything, from City Life, SC4, A great story, and well, pure good journaling. Some of the custom content here is amazing, and as i said, he really improves at citymaking. Continuing the streak, Fever adds death mysteries to his story, among the many great things you'll find in the fantastic story. Going into multiple point of veiw's, Fever shows many great citys, from military places to simple towns. He uses RL pics, like a fabulous pic of a fighter pilot(or somthing like that).

In all, Crystal city is a great drama thriller type journal, with a fabulous story and pics that improve each second.

Thanks for the awesome review, telling how much thinkgs have improved. Maybe I should've waited a couple more updates...since the story, and the pics are about to get a lot more interesting.

And also, if you were referring to pics from the ame City Life, I don't have that game...but if you were talking about city life in SC4...then nevermind...haha

    BOUT TIME I REVIEW.....

The Regional Districts of Kilkenny and Carlow

    By Mackeast

There are many CJ's on simtropolis, most of the best ones get put in peoples signatures, so people can read the journals they enjoy reading. One that has been way overlooked can be found in TRDOK&C. Mackeast's main, goal, rural realism, is done to perfection, with some of the most beautiful rural areas on simtropolis. These rural areas are full of irregular shaped farms that will blow your mind. A name that makes you think of South Park(OMG, HE KILLED KENNY!) kilkenny and carlow are two seperate, but never the less, beautiful regions. From the deep blue twisting rivers to the green rural hills of Killkenny, and all the major citys in between, Killkenny and Carlow are stunning.

    mapsmall0qm.jpg

As you can see above, each pic is delivered beautifully, with cool writing and fun facts of to the side. Mack's burbs don't look like most of the great suburbs on simtropolis, but there is an overwhelming feeling of realism to them. instead of gigantic complex neighborhoods, Mack has simple, almost square neighborhoods that look amazingly real. They zoning job is worth a city plannig trixie and the suburban feel is worth a dozen more trixies. The only negitives are the lack of custom scenery, such as trees and land(but not the water, the water is spectacular).

    24mw1.jpg

The rural areas as i said are spectacular, with amazing shapes to the farms(above^) and excellent road making and tree place ment. Killkenny is not a journal where your going to find a booming metropolis, but its tiny cities are still very fun to look at. The largest city vault is a beauty, with amazing planning as the buildings rise from small to medium size, perfect for small city.

    66qt1.jpg

to close it out, Killkenny Carlow is a rare kind of journal, yes there have been farming journals, and there have been big city journals, but there are few as realistic as TRDOK&C. The Rural areas combine with the big city areas beautifully, making this one of the hidden gems of the city journal forum.

ILL PUT A PIC FROM THE MORE RECENT WORK HERE, EXPERIENCING SERVER ERRORS THOUGH

Sorry if the review isnt great, i really rushed to get it done, ive owed mack for 3 weeks now 4.gif

That's terrible news.  Files not saving after you've gone through the process to save just burns32.gif my britches and makes look around for that trusty sledgehammer19.gif.  I hope the cj story piece you lost is still fresh in your mind so you can re-write it real quick like and not have to waste anymore time.44.gif

I don't really follow all these threads that talk about judging ,reviewing and giving personal opinions about things on this or other sites, whether they are BATs, Mods or CJ's. I have my own opinion about all of this, but this thread is kinda quite neutral and positive, even if a specific CJ is less appealing to most and needs a lot of eouragements and help t become intereting. I even started reading some of these CJ's that have been analysed, reviewed and talked about here. Interesting indeed.

I actually like this thread and it was about time to tell you so, to encourage the great work you folks have been doing.Good luck.
