Where's 'Volcano' in your poll  !  It's the only one I ever use... and that's only when i've got beef with a rebel city (one that's not going to plan). 

Am I inventing volcanoes?  Did they come with RushHour or something?  I seem to remember there bein a meteor disaster somewhere too.

Lightning followed closely by fire. Although on a side note i hate that they don't have flood, which is my favorite from 2000.

I would love to see things like floods or riots in the game, something that actually challenges a mayor. And it would be nice if the game didn't just have it happen and that it's. Instead of just having to destroy demolished buildings, why not have it so you have to stop riots and stop infections and other things that happen after a natural disaster. Or even better, how about Sim City turns into a Country wide game? And we can attack each others cities? We can set it up online and have it so you can create aliances and you wuld have to build up armies and other things. Basically, combining Empire Earth and Sim City 4 into one game. Or even better. Download extra terrian tools, which adds "Rain" (fills any depresses with water), and "Lake" (makes a valley and fills it with water). I poured rain down upon my city and actually demolished some of my buildings.

Don't know if this thread is too old to bump up, but I've had riots in the game. You need to send in the police who form a line of SWAT officers as you call in units to surround the rioters. You also may need to call in the fire dept. to put out fires that the rioters start. Just thought I'd out that out there.

I like the riots but they only rarely occur in my cities (maybe they're nice cities in which to live so i shouldn't be complaining) but the real problem as i see it is that in 2000 you could make a riot just happen, or a plane crash, and in 4 you have to wait for riots. Not complaining though. But if they theoretically made Simcity 5 (like that'll happen) i'd like a return to covering all the disasters in 2000 as well as extra ones, and more realistic portrayal of disasters.

I think the portrayal of disasters in 4 is too unrealistic and... well boring to be frank. In 2000 you could blame the primitive graphics for this but if 5 or XL or whatever has disasters there'd be little excuse these days not to have a good realistic one.

I would have answered riots, but I guess you people don't count it as a disaster. Also, I agree with futurama2506sim, nukes should be a disaster available. But at least you can set fire to your nuclear plants and blow junk up. Simcity will never cease to amuse me...

I vote Lightning because i always adore the lightnings. I also notice that nobody liked the Robot, maybe because is the most unrealistic disaster at Simcity 4, more devastating than earthquake! Floods will be a good idea, but i miss more the locusts, the toxic cloud, the space junks and the whirlpool from Simcity 3000 World Edition. As about airplane crashes, after 9/11/2001 you may need to forget it. Even in Rush Hour you can't crash an airplane at skyscraper.

I like earthquake and volcano the most becsue they are the only ones with modable values. 

Of the two the earthquake is the most versitale. It can take out an enitre city or just a block. And you can leave gaint gashes with it:

hmmm, mine would be either the autosaurus wrecks, the UFO, tornado, or volcano.

Can't really decide between them.
