Thanks for all the comments. My dial up connection is bad, because that I live far in the mountains,and the telephone line is in a poor condition for the last 6 kilometers to my home. That is the main reason for sudden interuptions of my connection. It happens mostly when the weather conditions are bad. Let's say, I can live with that.

A smaller update today,we will mainly talk about Nexis City and its new expanding industrial neighbor of Cedar Bay.

 

First , in Cedar Bay last night, a murder was reported (X shows the spot).General T.Jerter was killed with a firearm and was found dead in a little forest in the middle of Cedar Bay. Gen.Jerter, the Commanding General of the Atlas Military Base,was 72 years old and about to leave his command to someone younger. No motive yet has been found, but Sherlock Holmes himself will take care of the investigation,since this is a civil murder outside the army's jurisdiction. Does it have something to do with last years strike? Sherlock promissed to light up this mystery.

Cedar Bay, now the fastest growing township on Genesis,with more and more immigrants from Uru arriving, does already have a space problem and a demand for enlarging the county was made to the Regional Administration Office in the Capitol City of Gloryville. The reason for this population boom is easy to understand, because of this being the only place sofar allowed for dirty industry. Therefor many industries have been built, needing many workers.

The expansion will be towards the North (on the right on this picture) instead of to the south, where still a big amount of terrains are available. The southern neighbor has many small rivers and creeks and they do not want the dirty industry come to close to this township, that is why a limit on Cedar Bay's industry expansion was made in this county.

As we can clearly see here on this regional picture, the expansion to the north of Cedar Bay is more convenient. A lot of free flat land is available for industrial and residential zoning. This is Grand Tenzel River.- An environmental law in the township though forbids the construction of dirty industry no closer than 500 yards to any waterway.- We can also see that Nexis City, the neighboring town to the east, is not very far away,and easily to travel within 20 minutes by train or car, which of course is attracking a lot of newcomers also.

Nexis City is slowly expanding also as we can see on this picture. It used to be a smaller town, but things are changing and construction is excellent here. Mr Vegetabls and Mr Ninten have been building homes here in a quantity hard to believe. As we all know, Nexis City is made out of two parts,the main City here and to the east the eastern part. (see regional picture above).Here in Nexis City services are of better quality and also quantity, since it has a large commercial section just north of the highway.- Nexis City also has a lot of our personalities as permanent residents.

A friendly game of baseball yesterday between Cedarville and Nexis City was won by the team of Nexis City,and while Vallen Nexis saw the interest of population towards the sports, he decided and also announced to the public, that he will make sure that a Sports Stadium will soon rise over the City of Nexis.This is very exciting news to the public ears.

Like I said earlier, Nexis City being close to Cedarville, which has the jobs,has become a target for residential immigration, because of its services. Rumours are that all these low-income appartment blocks belong to one person, that we all know, Sven from Gloryville. Now if the rumours are true, still has to be confirmed.

 

Other news: Nothing is going as planned onboard the Space Station Nexis II Traveler. Ground control has lost contact with the Station today and it has not yet been reconnected. It looks like there is a failure onboard the vessel again. We have to wait and see. The Space Station Nexis I , in orbit of Genesis, has said that the Traveler is still on its route to Verto. This was confirmed by looking at the Traveler with the Giant *Black Eye* telescope abord the Station. Aslo a second vessel, a faster speeding one, was sent off today towards the Traveler Station, bringing them some engineers and new materials. They should catch up with Nexis II in less than a month.

 

On R.I.C.O.TV today it was announced that Dan, the director of the Regional School Commission, was elected as the Minister of Education on Genesis. Something he was enormously proud of and something that he deserved, since education wouldn't have been the same without him. In his speech he announced that he will concentrate himself of building more High-Schools and more colleges, so everyone will have access, now that every township has at least one elementary school already....*Schooling is Education, and Education is the base of a better and healthier Society*..., were his last words during his speech. Congratulations to his achievement!

What a bad way to die! Well, we barely new him so I gess nobody is too sad about the tragic death of the general. The ghetto looks just hown it should. Is that station a junk ship? So many malfunctions makes us worry about everybody on board. I hope it doesn't get worse.

A small update this morning:

 

Communication contact has been re-established with the Space Station Nexis II Traveler, which is still on the way to reach Verto in less than 30 days.
First thing they heard on the communication system was Evermind saying all kinds of words (not too many nice ones btw) to the crew that assembled the toilet department of the Station.- As we know Ms Wellwisher was and still is, the responsable for the Station, but it was impossible for her to take care and supervise everything, mostly at that time she was pushed by Vallen Nexis also to finish as fast as possible. So the toilet department has some minor *forgets* like having completed the bolting of the floor. What happened after is a *chain reaction* or,as some may call it the *Butterfly effect*.
The floor got loosened with the vibration of the tyraveling station, therefore causing problems with the toilets and also with the external structure, which was quite seriously dammaged btw, the external wall got bended, causing problems of all kinds on its own and so on.....and many faults followed afterwards.

 

Tim, on board of the Station also, and being the Chief engineer, has garanteed that most of the cancer (as he calls it), before it spreads more, has been put under control, but for the toilet department it will be hopeless for the moment, unless a ship will arrive very soon with the material needed to fix it.

 

The vessel will continue its mission and no changes what soever have been made. It will arrive ontime on Verto in exactly 29.2 days.

 

Let's hope that this is the end of these problems.

Are you all ready for another update?

 

The Space Station Nexis II Traveler has sent a message that everything has been in order lately, the toilet chamber is sealed off completely and the Station is continuing its voyage to Verto,probably reaching the planet in 17 days or so.
Evermind feels better now that Tim,the Chief Engineer, has arranged things to be more safely on the Station, but nothing could be done for the structural weakness near these chambers.

 

Joao Otavio is still moving in his vessel to Opall and he should reach the meteor in 48 hrs. Already he is studying the massive rock,while being as close to it as ever before....* This Baby is a pure planet eater,it's soo huge*... he mentioned all amazed of the size ,in the briefing with the Base Station on Uru.

 

On Genesis ,Sherlock Holmes Security had someone arrested earlier today, which will be questioned as a suspect to the murder of the General J.T.Jerker in Cedar Bay last month. Nothing has officially been proofed yet and no accusation have been filed either, but this arrestation should change things in the next days. We will keep you informed.

 

In Axis South Brett has just finished a few Hi-Risers again and now he will be moving to Axis City to start the Head-Quarters for the Sirius Group, that will be moving to Genesis from Uru in 2 years. Brett told the press conference about this new project and he said that this will not be only the most expensive building that he has ever built, but also the most massive and highest on Genesis and Uru combined. Wow...I can't wait to see this....

 

A problem of the past has arrised again in Grand Dam, many fear. The water level is at its highest allowed. The Welcome Island is about to disappear again.
Owen Shepherd, the responsable Director for the Grand Dam Corporation, has ordered to open all the valves to their max, what they should have done many years ago also.
Weather conditions in  Ice Lake are warming up again quickly this spring, just as it did some years ago, which caused many inondations below the dam and in other townships, such as Hawklyn Valley, former West Axis. Adley Hawklyn is about to panic and was calmed down by Mr Shepherd, assuring him not to worry this time and that the water levels can easily be controlled in Grand Dam with the piping system that Owen himself designed. Another inondation will not happen,Mr Shepherd garanteed.

Here we can see the valley completely filled with water, just before the valves were opened. Even some of the forest were already under water .-We can also see that the town of Grand Dam is slowly expanding too, like most of the towns on Genesis , with all the massive immgrations from Uru. One family from Uru just arrived here last night with their 5 year old son Shane Boxx. His father will reopen a Car dealership here in Grand Dam and Junior will go to the best school to become someone important one day.

Mr night, who has his home on the beaches of the artificial lake just beside Mr Shepherd's home, likes the idea to have the water level this high and all he has to do is cross the road to put his feet into the water. Also the Welcome Island looks a lot nicer at night with all the water reflecting the lights.

Now, on the other side of this melting in Ice Lake is Grand Falls, where Jim has bought out almost the whole valley and where a scientific Station is, but they reported that not more than the usual water quantities are coming down the falls and that the valley will not be inondated this year.......

 

We haven't been in Red Poll for quite awhile, so let's have a look. As we know, it is strictly forbidden to have a permanent home on Lake road, which contours the river's outlet. Only cottages and weekend homes of certain sizes have been allowed and I think that law is here to stay. By now there are more than a hundred cottages all over the place and land is starting to get rare. The Regional Administration Office in Gloryville will allow the construction of another road that will be a little higher than Lake road. Construction will start this fall only though.
The price of a lot, no bigger than .7 acres (almost a third of an hectar) is far into the 5 digits and mostly successful businessmen/women can afford a place here in this most beatiful county. Another law says that only one lot can be owned by a person, but something fishy is going on and rumours say that some folks have more than one lot with different names. A closer investigation into this was asked by the Rulers and Mr Night is supposed to take care of this.

Also Skinner, where Slayer has his SuperMansion, is slowly drawing other CEO's to have a country Mansion in this lost and  treeful paradise. Mostly semi or fully retired folks move here.

Just a step further north is Bolton, where Dan had the first University built, and just because of this and of course because it is close to Axis and Gloryville and has a Highway, Bolton is growing very quickly. It even has a small downtown now, where you get most of the things that you need. The Mayor mentioned that there is a big shopping Center planned for Bolton very soon, the third on Genesis. The first is in Axis City and owned by Adley Hawklyn and the second in Gloryville. Will Bolton have one before Nexis City?

Now, in Axis Harbour, where the harbour was sold in two parts to Sven and the Sirius Group, the last started modifying the islands and are even enlarging them, preparing the land for something, but what? All that was given away by the Group was that the project is called C.O.W. and that it will cost in the higher Millions of

Cool update, I'm glad the space station is doing a little better and the dam is rising again, uhoh, just like my parent to move to a dangerous place lol. and all of those nice small areas to live, someday Shane will have a house in one of those small towns. Dang, Bolton has grown, and it's getting a shopping center, cool, but great work on this update

Ha! Horatio Utora is finally born! Although he's still in his pampers, I can't tell you how happy I am. I consider it a great honor to be part of the Mother of All City Journals! This is the right moment to congratulate you with your Trixie, MrBisonm! I really love the pics of the Space Station Nexis II Traveler, and I also can't wait to see the Sirius HQ on Genesis. I'm also curious about the new destination of Axis harbor, but most of all I wonder what Horatio's life on Genesis will eventually look like (but I guess I'll have to be patient, right?)

I'm new on simtropolis, and i discover it... by finding the nexis journal ! It takes me seven days to read all of it... Now what a suspense with Opall and Uru... and i can't wait for the Sirius group building!
