Great to see you back with a new CJ, Dick. The intro sounds very promising and kinda like something I was waiting to see for a long time 4.gif. I also like your developments so far, reall nice small town feel. Good use of custom content too, but I also like the low-wealth development a lot. I'm using a Maxis blocker for that stage, but sometimes I feel I'm really missing something without these, because I think they can actually look really nice.

I'm looking forward to more.

- Phil

    Hi Phil,

Good to hear from you friend. I've been working on a number of regions on and off. I've wanted to do another desert theme for a while. You may remember Casa Grande. You may notice the texture change on the terrain from time to time: more or less vegetation. For some reason certain terrain mods (I'm using Canyonlands) do that on my machine?!

    Take care,

    Dick

I've read your past CJs and they were excellent, so I am looking forward to seeing Rancho Cordova grow. BTW, you might want to change your sig because it still advertises Cresent City.

Yeah, of course I remember Casa Grande 4.gif. I like the terrain mod you're using here, I think the changes add a lot to the diversity. I believe Columbus (the one I'm using) does that too, of course that one is lush green.

Good start on a rural CJ. Is Mesa Valley a neighborhood of Rancho Cordova, or is that a typo in your banner in update 4?

Can't wait to see Rancho Cordova expand!

How have I missed your updates... Great overview, I like the way the green residential area raises out of the desert. Also great location for industry and commercial. I like the details.

As for the terrain changes, I think all of cycledogg's mods do that... I think even the Maxis one does change. Cycdledogg just replaced the textures... but I always wondered based on which criteria the game changes the terrain.

Arroyo Grande looks like a very realistic small town you can find anywhere in the Midwest. I like the use of the NAM Mountain Paths, you are one of the only people I know of who uses them. I like how you have the old road (the street) and the shiny new highway running through the desert, it shows how towns evolve from sleepy ranch towns to booming suburbs.

That looks so much like the small towns in Arizona, I saw a load of towns just like that while I was heading East towards New Mexico. 4.gif

There's a great southwestern "feel" to your region, especially in Arroyo Grande. The stream and watering hole look nice and muddy 4.gif

Nice use of the desert terrain!
