Dare I ask what the problem with putting that skin in png format was?

I mean, if you're going to post something like that for someone to use, you really want it in a lossless format, so png is the best option. Jpeg will dither it and gif... well it may have more than 256 colors, and even if it doesn't, the png filesize will be smaler if properly compressed.

Easy:  ST doesn't like PNGs, it messes up a lot of people's browsers.  Also the high file size can overload a connection.
