    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/22.gif>  Sorry!  Been a bit delayed!  Have some new buildings in the city that needs space, so I'm currently trying to re-develop areas!  Hopefully it won't be too long before I can showcase Olympia <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif>

    Agra you are quite a tease! 3.gif Anyway, I had a question that actually referred to the very first image in this thread (which unfortunately is no longer viewable 8.gif) I noticed that across your canals you had some very elegant bridges where the road just stayed flat the whole way, without the abrupt rises and dips that normally appear when you simply place a bridge. I have experimented with the terraforming, but I still get these ugly monstrosities which look very out of place in the canals, and I was wondering if you had any advice on getting such nice bridges.

    Your work on Olympia is really amazing and is by far the most creative and artistic that I have ever seen - you have really pushed the envelope in terms of showing what SimCity 4 can do. I think Olympia is the city that everyone wished they lived in 2.gif. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing some new screen shots!

    get the bridge height mod.  someone, can't remember who it was, created a mod that eliminates that massive lift in the road before a bridge.  it works great.

    Thanks so much for the tip! I tried dowloading the mod several times, but my computer kept telling me the folder was invalid or corrupted - do you know who to contact to fix that?

    P.S. I love the Orangeview CJ - what a great idea!

    Yeah, sorry about the pics, and to answer your question; I use the bridge height mod that n747 mentioned! 1.gif

    BTW, the first set of Olympia images have been uploaded already! And a lot more to come!

    And yes, I'm the one starting Gothia 4 years ago, offering the exhibits at Expo Scandinavia - something might I add is about to return once CityScape is launched!

    For now, enjoy the images! More to come! 10.gif

    Slayerovsims;

    I need you to be more specific if I'm going to be able to help you!

    Joerg;

    I'm currently working on my B.A.T-buildings. Since I basically provided the SC3-community with Europan buildings, my current goal is to reproduce most of my SC3URK's and BAPlus-items into B.A.T-items for SimCity 4. I feel that most of the buildings I made for SC3K are kind of interesting objects for SimCity 4. The ones currently in development are;

    bx31-152.gif

    bx31-158.gif

    bx31-202.gif

    bx31-204.gif

    Besides those I'm also working on some other objects!

    SAC/Agra

    Tjenare,

    I agree with Joerg, you are one of the greats from the SC3K time. Since you are bringing back some of the old SAC buildings, how about PUB? I've been looking at your site and you have managed to create that European feel by getting the buildings very close together. How? Are you plopping the lots without all the empty space?

    One of the things that I don't like with SC4 is that the standard lots have to much empty space around them. You never see that in downtown areas here in Europe.

    I saw the Gothia city journal on your site! VERY well done! I was just wondering if you were going to release those radio towers? I really want a radio tower, and yours (if they are yours, I think someone said they weren't) are very nice!

    Thanks!

    And yes, to get that European feeling buildings need to be built close together. The easiest way to accomplish this is zoning correctly, follow up with terraforming when needed, and make buildings historical once the right ones have been properly built.

    As I mentioned in another post I also redo a lot of them lots by simply getting rid of useless space like car parks and other none-european trash along building sides and their backyards. Some lots have been changed by having building props added to the main building on the lot. I'm working on at least 4 lots that will have this typical European block look with lots of buildings placed next to each other, hopefully as a replacement for some of the skyscrapers in the game - and also growable.

    However, I was hoping someone with great skills with the Ilive or EasyTweaker could help me out by adding the proper values for jobs, residents and so on. I don't seem to get them right - after all!

    As far as the radio towers regards - they're mine alright - although the props were especially made by Couch for this project of mine. They'll be released eventually. I'll be trying to add some images of Olympia in-game used lots at CityScape before the end of this week! 1.gif

    HOLY CRUD!

    My buddies who got bored beyond all reason with SC4 after about an hour of playing and blowing up things even said your cities are freaking amazing -- it silenced them for about 30 minutes.  Your SC3K-comeback buildings also look utterly fantastic, keep up the incredible work!

    By the way ... you HAVE TO post one of your cities for download!  I could lose myself for hours just looking around one!  <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/12.gif>

    Thanks Frogface! 1.gif My intention is to transform the city into an even more European stylished city. This means that most skyscrapers currently in place will be replaced with low-rise buildings.

    I'm posting images of specific lots as I post this 3.gif

    I took a look at the pictures you posted! Towers B and C look just like the twin towers on Mount Baldy. I'm looking at them right now! The one that looks like C is 400m tall, and the one that looks like B is 350 meters tall. I was just wondering if you made those with many props or if the towers are one piece?

    -I know this thread is about canals/waterways- images, but since the rest of the thread is a little off topic..

    All three towers, A, B and C are all built up using rep. props. 1.gif

    And don't worry about the initial thread purpose - like you said, it has become a bit off topic to beginning with 22.gif
