I know about the Rural Renewal Project but I cant Find it, atleast what I want that I saw in it. I have seen it all over and I want 15-4.jpg

I am interested in the gravel roads. The ones that are Grass with the two gravel strips along the sides. I guess they must be somewhere since this was posted in Mount Rose and Mount Grace in August. If its all posted in one place tell me where please, as in the project.

I got a CJ, Waterbridge, i'm not a hyperlink expert but search it and it should come up :)

Does any one know where I can find the following downloads:

  • Friesian Foods Meat Packing Plant
  • Install De Bijenkorf
  • MTRT-V1
  • R$$ Haarlem Schermerstraat
  • R$$ Pieter Kiesstraat
  • R$$$ Bakenessergracht
  • R$$$ Spaarne Zuyd

I've already searched for these filenames (and parts thereof) but thus far no luck. Since you cannot search the LEX for content or file names, any hint as to who created some of these would help, too.

Thanks

BTW: The gravel roads were made by ChrisAdams and you find all of his stuff on the LEX (just use the "Power Search and list all his stuff).

The underpasses on the previous page are by Marast, indeed, but on the BSC LEX they may appear under the name of BSC Custodian, who handles Marrast's creations these days.

@DocRorlach: For the last four did you try searching the STEX under just Haarlem? I suspect that they are his works, and that they are on the STEX. Not sure if he has uploaded anything to SC4D anyways. The third one, MTRT-V1, I suspect is one of the Mass Transit Road Top sets, perhaps one of Coego's?

Thanks. I did indeed check all of Haarlemer's lots - I think - but none of the names listed appear even in the ZIP filenames. And on the LEX only his prop files are listed, and not even under his name - which is odd. I'll check the MTRT shortly, because I think you are right.

Please, someone tell me where can I find the BSC Mega Texture Pack? I've searched on Simtropolis, found a post that says to go to simpeg.com, then found a post that says to go to SC4Devotion.com etc. etc. but I was still unable to find the file. I also tried Google, but to no avail.

BSC dependencies are at SC4Devotion.com. If it's BSC and you can't find it on ST it will be at SC4Devotion. But it may be repackaged into an upload with a different title. They have guides over there, and forums where people will help you find what you need.

Whenever folks are saying you find it at SC4D they actually mean the LEX, which is independent (sort of) of SC4D. Use the "Power Search", listing BSC as the author/creator then click Search: all of BSC's Mega Packs are listed. Log-in is required.

I've seen them around before, but I can no longer find them. Basically, I have diagonal avenues with those "stair-step" sidewalks running alongside. I am looking for a ploppable piece that is half grass and half sidewalk so it looks smooth.

Same thing for diagonal railroad beds if anyone could direct me.

What you're looking for are SFBT Filler lots; they include what you describe fro different wealth zones, and can be found either on the LEX or on SimCity Plaza

I need help!! I've downloaded several japanese lots. I'd like to remove the ploppable versions from the folders (inside plugins) to help trim down on the in-game menus. What is the difference between a plop and grow file name to help me sort them out?

Some did say grow or plop but most don't.

thanx everyone.

If you would give the links to download  these lots or show a picture here in this thread of the opened folder holding all the files, we would be able to help you indicate which ones you should keep.

As much as I can see it, these are all growables. All five lots. You can recognize this by the R$$ in the name of the .lot file. Usually when it is a plop, it says either *Plop* or *LM* in the name or nothing of these at all.

But whenever you look at a .lot name and it says either I$, CO$$ or R$$$ (just some examples) in their name, then you can be quite sure that it is a growable.

Hope that helps a bit.

Hi, I think I remember seeing a mod that made all mountain peaks that reached a certain height have snow (snowcapped mountains), but I can't seem to find it. Does it actually exist, or was I hallucinating? If so, could anyone direct me to it?

Thanks

Sorry not to get back sooner, internet problems. Now, I am absolutely positive that those are Haarlem's lots, I have R$$ Pieter Kiesstraat in my plugin folder, and it and the other Haarlem lots I've downloaded have that same naming system. It maybe that the zip files have a different name.

I think you guys should start learning how to spell the names properly before doing a search. It is HAARLEMMERGOLD that you need to search for. Also try the name VANDERAAP as a search. Make sure to spell them right.  49.gif  2.gif

i use a Mac. When sorting out plop from growable, do the extensions .SC4LOT represent plops? How about .SC4Desc, .SC4Model? Are they growable extensions?

The .SC4Model is the building itself, without it you will get a brown box. The .SC4LOT file represents the lot around the building, it can either represent Plop or Grow. I'm not sure what the SC4Desc does, though.

Hope it helps.

Lord_Zod. Sometimes the name of the file for example 'Jacksontower_plop.lot' or jacksontower_grow.sc4lot will tell you which is grow and which is plop, LM, etc. The same goes for the .sc4desc files. There are usually patterns each creator does. For example, if you download SimGoobers stuff, he usually does this to conclude which is Growable and which is Ploppable. For the Growable he gives (made up example) littlecaesars_cs$$$3x3.lot; there are normally a couple different lots that are growable included in his packages. His ploppable lots just contain the name of the building. So when unpacking stuff, look for the patterns each creator ueses that is unique.

Overall, you'll normally need 3 components for each building to work. The .sc4lot, .sc4desc, and the .sc4model

The .SC4Lot is what you see in the game, the BAT (building) itself and the lot with all the textures, overlay textures and props (the little things on the lot, sometimes considered as dependencies also, when they are not MAXIS-made). This file is called .SC4lot.

The . Desc file is sometimes found with the SC4Lot file, because it has the information of the lot of , by example, what wealth, how many residents or jobs, price, flammability etc. (statistics of the lot)

The . Model file is the BAT itself, the main building, if it has one.

So you see, all three files are usually needed to make one lot visible in the game whether it is ploppable or growable. Missing one of these files will not show that specific lot ingame unless they are all incorporated into one .dat file.

Ploppable means that you can find this specific lot somewhere in one of the menus, then you choose it and place it (plop it) in the game. Some of them are the police station, parks, landmarks, busstation, ploppable Commercial lots with jobs etc, only to mention very few. Like I said, everything you see in any menu is considered as a ploppable. These lots can be mostly recognized (not always) by having the words Pz, LM, ut or plop etc in their .SC4LOT name .

Growables you don't see anywhere in the menus, but you have to zone them (green, blue or yellow) and then they *grow* out of the ground chosen by the game itself. And these lots can be recognized (not always) by the words grow or the letters R, CO, CS, I with a $, $$ or $$$ beside it in the .SC4LOT name.

All depends on how the creator has named and classified them. Unfortunatly we don't always find a proper identification in the names, so most of the times we should read the description and readme to find out whether or not they are growies or ploppies.

That must be clear now 2.gif

I am, and probally others, really need diagonal type building. NOT pie wedge shaped. Actual 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, and 6x6square buildings. These buildings are built on the base of 1x1, 2x2, and 3x3 with an "overhang" off the base 1, 2, or 3 tiles to get the desired look.

Ex (as looking from above):

Thanks

I'm pretty sure SC4 only allows you to create rectangular lots in the lot editor, so you are probably out of luck.

Mokrie_Dela: Yes, there are other trees on the STEX. Cycledogg has made some, just search his name and they should pop up

Simsamerica: The entire Rural Renewal Project is on the LEX at SC4Devotion.
