I'm guessing like he screenshotting the game normally, and then played around with skew/transform tools in photoshop or somethin? I haven't played any of the SimCity games in ages but i never thought that old 2D games could be made into 3D? It's the only way I can think of....

Image manipulation.

It's just a normal screenshot which was opened in an image manipulation software like Photoshop or GIMP and the user most probably changed settings like the perspective etc.

Or maybe I just took 6 screenshots at Zoom 2, pasted them together, cropped the edges, sharpened the image, deepened the contrast a little, and sent this little piggy to market. No mystery tricks...sorry.

And a little over one tile to the east, now with a new computer I've been getting back to SC4 also... *:)

(City sides are Style 4 from Raymond's excellent Cutaway Mod 2.0 set.)

As can be seen, I've been experimenting with the SAM street curves as well. (Thanks Cori for helping me with learning those drag patterns!)

Glad to hear about your inspiration, Raymond.

And yes, that is correct for a wind farm where windmills (or wind turbines) are built. *

Nice detail shot.  Don't recognize the castle - but good spot for it on the hill too.

Thanks! This happens to be Broadway Tower that I was inspired by, since it's located on the aptly named Broadway Hill in Worcestershire, England.

Spoiler

Since I'm from England, I visited this in person on a trip around and about a few years ago.

Here's a pic I took of it:

Broadway Tower 2017.jpg

It really is quite the impressive panoramic view too from up there. I was amazed to see someone had already made the BAT of it for the game. *:golly:

Here's something silly which reminded me of the Wise and the Foolish Builders parable...

Best not build one's house on the sandy land:

Sandy Land House.jpg

Because it's much (much) better building on a rock:

(Providing one doesn't mind waking up to a 1,000 foot drop out the front door in the morning.)
