In Germany roundabouts are quite common, especially in rural areas.

You should come to England, especially Telford

 

 

Or Milton Keynes.

Actually, I heard the same thing about the Moscow Metro. They showed the map plans and ask Stalin what he thought. He put his coffee cup down, nodded and left the room. When they took away the cup, it left a brown stain which is both now the ring line and the colour on the transit maps.
