Well, for this week I will show you the middle part of Lavender, a big map, a first for me. I wonder how my computer will take it once filled with civilizations. Here again we have the mainriver (Grand Totem) that devides the township into two. A big island in the middle of the river will make a nice spot to build a bridge to reach the other side.

Here is a closer look at the river junctions and a part of the island. It is mostly flat land, but has some hilly and rocky corners. Looks like a nice place to start a village or a town.5.gif

Close look of......well21.gif...... nothing much as a matter of fact. I just liked the nature of this picture, so simple and plein plains.....lol...untouched nature. What will it be like in 50 years or so?

    Next week another county.......2.gif

Here are two more townships to introduce to you. Finally I found some names for them. Stagford is the northeastern county, somewhat mountainous with two smaller cold lakes and a creek that empties into the Grand Totem River in the next county,Azel Junction. Coleraine just west of Stagford and Lavender , the big central Township with its River.
The two new ones are first  Sparrow's Falls and then south of it, Bluelake. First let's have a look at Sparrow's Falls.

    1Lavender6.JPG

This county also has a smaller river that empties into the Grand Totem River and inside the county of Azel Junction. The Sparrow's Falls County will have some waterfalls later on, once I have learned how to handle and play/plopp Peg's riverlots. I have never used them before, except to make some very small ponds in my previous CJ (Nexis of Genesis).

    2Lavender5View.jpg

This is where most of the waterfalls will meet, in this central pool of the river, before the river continues into the other township.

    3Lavender5bassin.jpg

A plan of the waterfalls and creeks/ponds I have in mind is below, using Peg's watertiles, pondkits and Waterfalls. There will be quite a few and I hope that I get this right looking.

    4Lavender5Waterfalls.jpg

Bluelake is the next county, just south of Sparrow's Falls. It has two small lakes, but it's the one on the left which is called so. The lower lake is probably a former meteor impact, if you look carefully at its outer rings of solid rock.

    5Lavender6View.jpg

A closer look at the meteorlake....

    6Lavender6Bluelake.jpg

....and a closer look at the blue lake, which is at a low waterlevel at the moment.

    7Lavender6BlueLakeUpper.jpg

Finally I added two pictures of the first township that we
encountered and which I gave the name of Stagford. Here I have started the detailed terraforming and plantlife, as you can see. This is a lot of work to get the right amount of hills and rocks into the ground and then place as naturally as possible all the plantlife, and this is what most of the region will look like once finished and just before the story begins....

    8Stagford-1.jpg

    9Stagford-2.jpg

I suppose slowly it's starting to look right, with a lot of time and patience and it will almost be sorryful to build a City on top of it in some years. Well, since this will be on Earth, maybe some environmentalists will stop the settlers from destroying the whole valley and some natural parks will continue to flourish.

    Hope you enjoyed this.2.gif

Just popping in to say excellent job with the details of the terraforming. I haven't ventured out with PEG's water lots much myself more than a few small ponds and stuff, so have fun playing around with them!

How in the world can you terraform like that? I use the ingame GOD tools but it stinks. It sucks. You need something special to do terraforming like yours?

    Thanks for the comments.2.gif

jacqulina, I don't really have anything special to make the grass greener, but I think it depends on altitude a bit and also, of course, on the quality pictures you make with pro paint, which I use everytime before uploading them here.

TrebuTa, no special tools needed, I use the godmode for the rough terraforming in the beginning and then once the county or township (as I call them) have a name, I use the Mayor terraforming tools and trees for final touch-ups.

lambsquirter, I don't know why that is, you should ask that question in the technical problems Forum, but first look around, maybe it has been asked before.

Again, thanks for dropping in and say hello.

I just took a closer look at the mountain lakes and see where the shorelines follow a square or regular tile look.  I have had this problem when toying with my lakes.  While all the land/sea ploppable tiles work they and the shoreline don't look good.   I have used the plopping of trees in the water and that does help.  I have tried using the PEG Ponds and Newman Lakes illusionary shorelines but get a message that they won't plop on water tiles.  I am anxious to see your final results to see what you can do and if you can get the PEG's CTK & RTK to help.

Yes Deathtoall, this is CD's mod. The trees can be found in the Mayor section.

It bothers me a lot when the waterlines of artificial lakes come out so *squary*, there's nothing we can do about this, unless someone finds a better watermod.

I have never worked with Peg's watertiles or the CTK or RTK tiles, but I think it will not be too difficult. I only hope that I will get some good results with them. I have been watching jeronij closely with his watertile performing and learned a lot from him.
    Thanks for all the comments...1.gif

Looks good so far, the PEG lake/river lots arn't too hard to use, I have used them to make several large lakes in Myon and they turned out good.

I haven't yet seen Myron, but will check it out.  Before going to that site I am hoping you are saying you made the lakes with those created with a rain mod in the mountains (or otherwise located) as opposed to the normal water level for rivers and oceans.

Mouse? Do you mean moose? Or what? I can't see a think except for the shadow of a tree. Or is that mouse in some foreign language?
