Someone has had this idea before, I felt like bringing it back in a new form.

Basically post where you have traveled. Since I have always traveled by car(only flown once) mine is a map of places I have driven or ridden over my life. Not a lot compared to some people's but I am only 20 so hey someday i'll be able to fill in more of this.

Note some may be out of scale and don't include shorter day trips or driving around cities which may not be shown.

I don't feel like doing all the highways. As I suspect a lot of you will have repeats, as do I.  I just put blue or red blobs for areas I've heavily traveled.

Oh and the blobs are where I have lived*

Your sketch is sloppy. Highways aren't long straight lines meeting at sharp angles. 3.gif

Anyways, here's mine:

I don't get out enough. 21.gif

Also, here's a blank version, so you can make your own without digging up a map. Do remember to size it down to fit within 800x600 either in your image editor or in the post editor before posting, m'kay?

Nice!  I don't drive, so all my trips have been by air, train or ferry!  After making this I realised that I haven't travelled nearly as much as I thought!  Nevermind.  That makes me less of a carbon fiend!

europe1.jpg

trains, planes & erm...water-mobiles!

By the way, along all of those yellow lines you should picture a person suffering from pure terror for the whole journey!  I have an irrational fear of flying that only affects me once the plane is in the air!

And Finland is my favourite place in the world... or should I say my travelled world!  Especially the city of Tampere.  You should all go there!

Do they still offer ocean passage to New York?

Ooh, I like this, i'm a keen traveller.

Been to quite a few locations, so I annoyingly had to spread them across three pictures. I have always flew in a plane abroad, never anything else.

Places i've been to in Europe...

600-europe.jpg

...the Middle Eastern area...

600-middle_east.jpg

...and across to Hong Kong and Tokyo.

600-asia.jpg

The notable thing about this is that all my travels initially start from Manchester Airport. Never been to Heathrow, thank goodness.2.gif

The best places I have been to is St Petersburg and Tokyo.

I drive a truck for a living so I have driven to nearly all of the 48. I have never been to Alaska, Rhode Island, and I have never been outside the US except once to Mexico City & Guadalajara Mexico, but that was when I was much younger. Have always wanted to visit England and Germany. Never been on a plane, not too crazy about the idea.

Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.

I've ridden the entire New York City subway.

And much of that came from killing Saturdays by getting on the train and riding out to exotic places just for the hell of it.

Woo, I have no life.21.gif

That actually sounds fun. I've done similiar but in my car, driving out to different neighborhoods and little towns in my area. It's fun, and I think the type of person who visits this site would be impressed by your statement.

Well, when I was younger, during the nicer part of the year, me and my father would go out for walks just for the hell of it. Other times we'd go out and drive around to kill time.

And after getting to college I have also one out for walks all over the place. Sometimes I get a little carried away. I walked all the way to Yankee Stadium once. That's about six or seven miles from where I am, and through some less than nice neighborhoods.

So yeah, I've always been quite the explorer. 5.gif
